Giselle Orentas

once was a girl
whose life changed forever at 20
her virginity was taken
in the most horrible way
she does not remember what happened
after one drink
she only remembers opening her eyes
and someone was on top of her
she could not move
she could not scream
her entire 20’s became a blur
dark
confusing
blind

at 34
she chose to heal
deeply
consciously
bravely
searching for that unconditional love,
she learned about forgiveness
some experiences
were easy to forgive
but this one
took many rounds of
I think I finally did
until one day
the release arrived
and she knew
she was free

why am I telling you this?
because healing is real
because transformation is real
you can turn darkness into light
at any moment
sometimes instantly
sometimes slowly
sometimes in pieces

I don’t know how raw my community is
ready to receive me
but if I am going to be here,
I am going to be here fully
you have the power
to transform your life
remember that 💗
