Ray had the incredible opportunity to visit the Marvy barber pole company and get a behind-the-scenes tour from none other than Scott Marvy himself! Watching the iconic barber poles being made—right here in the USA—was something special. Scott walked me through the entire process, from the classic spinning cylinder to the signature globe on top.
For those who don’t know, Marvy has been making barber poles since 1950, when William Marvy introduced the first model in St. Paul, Minnesota. They’ve been family-owned and operated ever since, proudly keeping the tradition alive for over 70 years. Today, Marvy is the last remaining manufacturer of traditional barber poles in North America—how cool is that?
Huge thanks to Scott for the warm welcome and the unforgettable tour. Long live the barber pole!
