You can’t trust the word of many people anymore. But I have news for you—you can trust Jesus!
“Live your life in such a way that when your feet touch the ground in the morning, the devil shudders and says, ‘Oh no, she’s awake!'”
I really like that statement. Because you should be aware that the devil is fighting. Yes, he’s fighting to claim you. He’s fighting to claim your family. He’s fighting and fighting because he knows exactly how strong you are when you get moving with God!
He knows that you are someone who can speak hope into the heart of another person who is without hope. He knows that you are someone who will smile and be kind. He knows that you will see the person who is overlooked by others. He doesn’t like that—because he hates the light.
So if you’re fighting against something right now, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re on the wrong path! Perhaps you are so on the right path, and that’s why your foe is trying to stop you.
You think the devil is making your life difficult, when in fact, you’re the person spoiling his fun!
You think the devil is putting obstacles in your way, when in fact, you’re the one putting a stop sign in front of him.
When you get up today, it won’t be the devil ruining your plans, but you will thwart his plans—with God’s help!
In the Bible it says: "...Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you…” James 4:7-8 NLT
Get up: Not on your own, but with His strength!
Heavenly Father, I want to know You. You’ve revealed Yourself in the Word. Now, please reveal Yourself in my heart. Lead me toward a pure understanding of You as my perfect Father. Then let the reality of You in my life be a light of truth to those in the darkness around me! In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
God's favor comes through obedience, surrender, and yielding to Him.
Look at what God told Moses when he requested God’s presence:
I will do the things you have asked because I am pleased with you… (Exodus 33:17)
God is pleased with us. God told Moses that He would be present among them because He was pleased with him. Now you might say, “Yeah, that’s because it’s Moses. I am no Moses.” Moses is supposed to be this great godly leader, right? Well, he’s supposed to be, but he’s not. Do you know what happened right before this passage? Moses’ followers built a huge, golden cow and worshiped it instead of God. If Moses was supposed to be some great leader, shouldn’t his followers like, maybe, follow? But in reality, his people were a mess… just like we are, just like you are. But still, God finds pleasure in us, in spite of poor performance.
Lord, it’s so hard to understand that even though humanity is broken, You still love us, even in the worst of times. Thank You for finding pleasure in me where the world only sees failure! In your Name Jesus. Amen.
The single greatest cause of stress is this: We take ourselves too seriously and we don't take God seriously enough!
God sees beyond our human frailties to the prospect of what we’re able to become in Him. Because His Spirit dwells in us, we have a greater capacity for spiritual transformation than we can imagine. Seek to become the person God has equipped you to be.
If God only loved those who loved Him, we’d never have known Him!
Words are so important. The words you let out and the words you let in.
In the hands of Jesus, “not enough” is more than enough.
Jesus, inadequacy says I’m not enough. But You say anything I offer is more than enough. May I spend every day depending upon the “more than enough” Spirit who lives in me, as we do things together that are way beyond my own abilities. Amen.
