Due to the rise in Olive Oil prices I had two choices to make: raise my prices as well, or come up with an alternative. I would rather spend a little time doing research on alternative oils than to raise prices.
I'm dedicated to keeping my products vegan (with the exception of the 2 TBS of honey in my Oatmeal Honey soap batch), so even though lard makes a wonderful bar of soap, I have chosen a blend of Rice Bran and Sunflower oils as a replacement. Their properties combined are of equal quality, and from what I'm hearing in the Soaping Community is that some makers actually prefer them to straight Olive Oil.

Please note that the price increase in Olive Oil is not due to Corporate Greed, but rather climate changes such as extreme heat, drought, and wildfires which has cut Spain's production in half.
