🚩 HAIR RED FLAG: Your hair suddenly tangles more than it used to.

Have you noticed that brushing your hair has turned into a battle lately?

When hair starts tangling much more easily, it can be a sign that the outer layer of the hair—the cuticle—isn’t lying as smoothly as it should.

Dryness, heat damage, chemical processing, and everyday wear can roughen the cuticle. Those rough strands catch on each other, creating more knots and tangles.

A few things that may help:
✨ Add more moisture to your routine
✨ Use conditioner every time you shampoo
✨ Detangle gently, starting at the ends
✨ Cut back on excessive heat
✨ Keep up with regular trims

Your hair doesn’t have to be falling out or breaking off to tell you it needs a little extra care.

Sometimes, more tangles are the first red flag. 🚩

👀 What Your Stylist Notices That You Don’t

You sit down in the chair and start talking about what you want—but your stylist is already paying attention. 👀

Before the scissors even come out, they may be noticing things you don't think twice about:

✂️ Where your hair naturally wants to fall
👀 Areas of breakage or fragile ends
💇‍♀️ How fine, coarse, thick, or dense your hair is
🎨 Signs of previous color or lightening
💧 How your hair holds onto moisture
🌀 Cowlicks and natural growth patterns

These little details help your stylist figure out how your hair may respond to a cut, color, or style—and sometimes explain why the picture you brought in might need to be adjusted for your hair.

That's part of the difference between simply getting your hair done and having a stylist really get to know your hair. ❤️

Did you know your stylist was looking at all of this?

✂️ What Does a Trim Actually Do?

Have you ever heard that trimming your hair makes it grow faster? That’s actually a myth!

Your hair grows from the scalp, so cutting the ends doesn’t change how quickly it grows. But regular trims can still make a BIG difference in how your hair looks and feels.

A trim can help:

✂️ Remove split and damaged ends
💇‍♀️ Keep your haircut looking fresh
🪮 Reduce tangling from rough ends
✨ Make hair look healthier and fuller
💗 Prevent split ends from continuing farther up the hair shaft

So while a trim won’t magically make your hair grow faster, it can help you keep your length looking healthier while it grows.

When was your last trim? 👀

🍂 Your Skin Is About to Notice the Weather Change

As we head into fall, you might notice your skin starting to feel a little different. Cooler temperatures, less humidity, and indoor heat can all leave your skin feeling tighter, drier, or just a little “off.”

A few simple changes can help:

🧴 Switch to a little more hydration.
🚿 Avoid overly hot water on your face.
💧 Don’t stop moisturizing just because summer is over.
☀️ And yes—you still need sunscreen in the fall!

Your skincare routine doesn’t need a complete overhaul every season. Sometimes your skin just needs a little extra support while it adjusts. 🍁

🍂 A New Season, A New Hair Routine

Fall is on its way! 🍁 As the weather starts changing, your hair may start changing right along with it.

So we asked our stylists: What are your best tips for heading into fall?

Here are a few of their favorites:

💧 Bring back the moisture. Cooler, drier air can leave hair needing a little extra hydration.

✂️ Clean up those summer ends. Sun, heat, swimming, and summer adventures can be tough on your ends. A trim can give you a fresh start.

🔥 Don't forget heat protection. If you're reaching for the blow dryer and hot tools more often, protect your hair before adding heat.

🧴 Pay attention to your products. What worked during humid summer weather may not be exactly what your hair needs in fall.

💆‍♀️ Give your scalp some attention. Seasonal changes can affect how your scalp feels too.

Most importantly, listen to your hair. You don't need to completely change your routine just because the calendar says fall—a few small adjustments may be all you need. ❤️

💆‍♀️ Your Scalp Is Skin Too!

We spend a lot of time thinking about our hair—but healthy-looking hair starts with how we care for the scalp underneath it.

Your scalp is skin, and just like the skin on your face, it can deal with oil, dryness, product buildup, and irritation.

A few simple habits can help:

✨ Shampoo your scalp, not just your hair.
🫧 Rinse thoroughly so product isn't left behind.
🪮 Be gentle when brushing and scratching.
🧴 Pay attention to how your scalp reacts to new products.

And if your scalp suddenly becomes very itchy, flaky, sore, or irritated, it may be worth talking with a dermatologist rather than simply piling on more products.

When you think about hair care, do you remember your scalp too? 👇

🧴 How Much Conditioner Is Too Much?

When it comes to conditioner, more isn't always better! 👀

Using too much can leave some hair feeling heavy, flat, or coated—especially if your hair is fine.

A few simple tips:

✨ Start with a small amount and add more if needed.
✨ Focus regular conditioner on your mid-lengths and ends.
✨ Give it time to work before rinsing.
✨ Choose a conditioner that fits your hair type and needs.

Thick, curly, long, or very dry hair may need more than fine or short hair, so there isn't one perfect amount for everyone.

The goal isn't to use the most conditioner. It's to use the right amount for your hair. 💕

Are you guilty of using a giant handful? 😂

🌙 What Happens to Your Hair Overnight?

You may be asleep, but your hair is still dealing with hours of movement and friction against your pillow. 😴

A few simple bedtime habits can help keep your hair happier:

✨ Gently detangle before bed.
💧 Avoid going to sleep with soaking-wet hair—it is more fragile when wet.
🎀 Keep long hair in a loose braid or gentle style rather than a tight ponytail.
🛏️ Consider a satin or silk pillowcase to reduce friction.

Your nighttime routine doesn't have to be complicated. A little extra care before bed can mean fewer tangles and less pulling in the morning.

What's your bedtime hairstyle: down, bun, braid, or bonnet? 👇

🪮 Are You Brushing Your Hair Right?

Did you know where you start brushing matters?

Starting at your roots and pulling your brush straight through tangles can put unnecessary stress on your hair and may lead to more breakage.

Instead, try starting near the ends of your hair and gently work through any tangles. Then move a little higher and repeat until you can comfortably brush from roots to ends. ✨

A little patience can make your brushing routine much gentler on your hair.

💕 Be kind to your hair—it works hard for you!

How do you brush: roots down or ends up? 👇
