Where the model things live...
Did you know it’s actually healthy to feel yourself?
photography can psychologically help you and adolescents self esteem.
After your next hair session, when you’re feeling fab bust out that iPhone.
If you’re not comfortable solo, grab an animal, child, or prop. You might feel silly uncomfortable that’s okay! The photo can be just for you and no one else.
Find the lighting, I suggest natural indirect light. Inside car, in front of a window are my favorites. Now put your camera on selfie, spin 180 degrees until you find the most flattering light.
Who cares if people are watching its 2021 this is our norm. Being a single mom if I didn’t prop up cams and be obnoxious with my phone in public I would never have any photos with my babes. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Next it’s all you, smile, smirk, straight face, play with angles of your chin up and down and left to right, lean forward with your chest or scoot back, head tilt. Move the camera high or lower depending on your pose. Let your hair cover most of your face in the beginning.
Snap away. At the end you should have plenty of good shots to choose from.
Take the time to look at them and sort through with a positive lens. What do you see?
Be present in this moment and grateful to yourself. Your insecurities likely got you through a lot of things and helped shape the person you are today. Thank them.
If you have children they will watch and see this confidence and it will inspire them to do the same.
If you feel confident enough to post don’t forget to tag me. Or just send to my dm, I wanna see what you come up with and am so proud of you!
Diva. Queen. Badas$. Hustler. Babe. Fierce. Lioness.

Making a natty red a cool tone blonde is one of the hardest things to do.
Eumelanin, pigment responsible for brown & black hair. A mutation to the MC1R gene malfunctions 🧬Produces less eumelanin, more pheomelanin = blonde or red hair. Absence of both pheomelanin and eumelanin= white hair.
When lightening the hair ammonium thyglocslate and peroxide create a chemical reaction punching tiny holes in the melanin allowing light to pass changing the wavelength of what the optical nerve sees.
Eumelanin is easier to punch bigger & less of them. 🤎🖤Pheomelanin is much harder, smaller & packed tighter. ❤️💛
Overtime melanin can repair, light does not pass easily. Once again changing what the optical nerve sees resulting in dull, browned out blondes. If you ever wondered why my blonde gets dingy and not as bright 2 mos after? Repairing cells can be to blame. 🥲
Punch to much? Mush, hair loses integrity and becomes acid lacking protein or keratin that the hair is made up of. The only cure? ✂️
Now that we have lightness, Next color wheel, 🌈canceling out the yellow will only naturalize your shade of blonde. Fashion colors we see nowadays have more blue and green to them unlike any natural hair pigment. Hair accepts warmth 🏵 because that’s its natural underlying pigment, happy place. Which appears brighter because light can pass. Rejects ash 💜💙💚 (what is this s**t?) and appears darker because light is absorbed.
Overtoning can help you wear your cool tone shade longer without frequent toning visits. It will appear more blue purple or green at first. All color fades. You will get more longevity out of your color and a more balanced tone before needing it touched up again.
This is a month of fade out.
Purple and blue shampoo will help as long as the light is there, but once it closes back up more punching will be needed 🔦. Adding purple or blue now will only make it darker. 🖤
Reds are the hardest because of the most concentration of yellow packed pigment. The amount of violet needed to naturalize that 💛💜💜is scary for most artists. Want a cool tone on red? 🐊🦕 scarier.
🔬Science is cool. I ❤️you my mutant sister.

“A woman who changes her hair is about to change her life.” -coco
It’s that serious. Stylists choose this profession to witness and be the vessel of that change.
I haven’t gotten my hair professionally cut/colored by anyone other than myself since our 2019 New York trip by I get the anxiety that comes with new looks.
I just want to brag on my teammate .actually.david. I told him my expectations, trusted, and he nailed it.
How many of you don’t actually get what you want out of your hair appointment? 🙋🏻‍♀️You like it but don’t love it? We see your faces, feel your energy, and it breaks our heart probably more so than yours.
Who do YOU want to be? Close your eyes and envision. Get a piece of paper and start jotting. Is she fierce? Powerful? Strong? Caring? Sexy? Diva? A gosh damn Queen. 👸🏼yesssss! How do we make her?
Consulting and managing expectations BEFORE your appointment. Here’s some tips for getting the most out of your next appointment.
RESEARCH👩🏻‍💻After you have your warrior princess designed in your head.
Look for inspiration. Social media Pinterest are both good tools but select realistic goals for your texture and density unless we’re adding extensions. 🧝🏻‍♀️Look through your old photos when did you like your hair the best? Ask your mom for baby pics. Look at your kiddos hair.
Cover the face on the photo with your thumb. Do you still like it? What about it? Is it the amount of lightness? Where the lightness starts? The color of the lightness? How it’s styled? The volume?
BE SPECIFIC
You can have a collection of photos but be prepared to present what you do and don’t like about each one.
Lastly PRE SHARE with your artist. Shoot them over a little message.
Hi, Lyndz I want to do something different with my hair next appointment. I am feeling this photo for my hair. I like where the lightness starts, I like the amount of lightness she has and how much natural color was left. I like that she has brightness around her face and at the top. I would like the lightness to be a little more golden or ashy than this photo. Is this a realistic goal for me?
F*ck ya! Let’s do this.

UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOU. — a survival guide to reacting to another persons new look.
✨Transformations, first time clients. Easily my favorite thing to do.
Change? I love it. Reinvention, a way to control swirling chaos. A lesson taught to me by my 5 year old daughter recently. The move and condition of our house has left us with a lot of uncertainty. When she wanted to chop her long hair off to her shoulders, initial reaction? Noooo. Once she explained she really needed it. Duh of course let’s do it. Controlling her hair helped her feel in control of her life.
What is more psychologically empowering than that?
Next time a friend, spouse, co worker, child goes for a big change. Realize there may be something brewing beneath the surface. A need for reinvention to feel better than any current situation. I get to be the vessel for that change every day. Just a hairstylist? Oh no my friend. It’s a much larger responsibility that I take very seriously.
Next time you react to a hair appointment. Here’s some suggestions.
Do NOT say 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏻‍♀️
I didn’t notice - literally nothing about their life has changed and in the same s**tty situation.
Wow, that’s different.- you don’t like their new hair, new self, or new life. Hopelessness.
Looks good on you but I could never pull that off.- it’s not about YOU. That’s just degrading and negative. Why are you comparing yourself to them? You’re different people and now they think they’re weird or trying to be something they are not and now want it irrationally changed back to the security of their toxic s**tty situation priorly in. Insecurity provoking. Not supportive.
Not my favorite- 🤯
Do say. 🥳💁🏼‍♀️🤍
- yes queen
- it’s so you
- how do you feel?
- so fresh
All are non committal to wether or not you actually like it and supportive as friend/spouse/coworker/parent
🛑STOP putting people in the boxes you’ve created for them. Allow change and growth. Listen allow space for someone other than yourself to speak. Let’s celebrate. 🏳️‍🌈
If you are feeling boxed in. 📦Call me. Let’s find YOUR happy. 😃 waiiiit... text me 432-934-9830 😅
