Where were you?

I was 14, and in my 3rd hr science class when the announcements came. I remember not being able to hear them clearly, but eventually finding TV’s all throughout the school with the news of the horrific attack. I remember coming home from school and watching it while my mom cried.
I didn’t understand the magnitude then- but now as an adult I find myself tearing up at such a monumental day.

This was a moment in history that will never be forgotten, and yet for so many, never experienced. Thankfully. I find it unbelievable that our children are now reading about it in history “books” and video clips- that my stylists are young enough they weren’t even born yet. This was a moment in time that changed so many things, so many lives.

Today we remember and honor all those lost and the heros that rose up during and after that day.

In a world that feels so dark at times- let’s remember to be the people we were the day after ❤️
Let’s remember that we are a nation that can come together. A place so full of light and promise that they tried to take us down. But we are still standing and still full of those traits.
Today honor those lost by loving your family, home, friends and neighbors. Be the light.

Probably the most asked question during appointments-
How often should I be washing my hair?

Well- it’s really not a one size fits all, however the amount of times DURING the process matters!

Ever notice on the bottle how it says to shampoo twice? There is a reason for that! When you shampoo- wash once to break up the dirt, product, and oil. Rinse. Then shampoo a SECOND time to really cleanse the scalp and fully wash away all of the yuck.

What you’ll notice- first round may not suds well. It’s doing the work to grab the dirt. But second round? You *should* achieve a nice rich lather, giving yourself that whole sensory experience of feeling clean. Rinse away and condition.

The after results should be a very clean, healthy feeling scalp, and lighter, fuller looking hair.

This 2 step process is especially important for teens experiencing scalp changes, active lifestyles that depend on dry shampoo, or anyone that is a product ju**ie and loves a good round of hairspray.

A few important keys:
You don’t need handfuls of shampoo each round- a quarter size should do it
How does your scalp feel? The daily frequency depends on hair type. We recommend every other day but understand that not all can and or want to do that!
If you go a week between washings- you may want to repeat the process 3x

Using the correct shampoo and conditioner will help maintain color, integrity and moisture…. So no need to worry about that!
