For years now I’ve been dealing with different symptoms from migraines, mood swings, low energy, fatigue, debilitating cramps, stomach issues, insomnia, etc. & It’s been so frustrating! I’ve seen different doctors and had alllll the bloodwork/labs/scans/tests always come back “normal”. I constantly have guilt over not feeling well and having to miss work, family functions and other life activities out of my control. 😣
On Monday I had surgery for Endometriosis.
I feel like that line in Taylor Swifts song, “you’re tied together with a smile but you’re coming undone”. I’m not out of the woods yet but they did find Endo in several places and removed it!
1 in 10 women suffer from Endo, and it’s this weird invisible type illness that’s hard to diagnose without surgery. Picture poison ivy growing and spreading taking over and living in places it shouldn’t wreaking havoc. Unfortunately it’s genetic and there are women in my family who suffered from this as well. I debated about posting this because I don’t want to seem all “woe is me”, I know things could be a lot worse! Women’s health is so dismissed in general and often times they suffer in silence with these taboo topics. Just wanted to shed some light and bring awareness to listen to your body and be your own advocate! I know this is part of my journey and the Lord has more planned for us. 🙏🏻 Thankful for my supportive husband, friends and family that have been here for me and continue to pray!
