Had the honor of speaking to 275 caregivers at the Alliance for Community Empowerment’s Staff Appreciation Day 🌿
My talk, “Glowing From Within,” was about something I believe deeply: self-care isn’t selfish, it’s self-preservation — and for people who spend their days caring for others, it’s non-negotiable.
We talked about the mind-skin connection, what your skin is trying to tell you, and why prioritizing yourself is an act of love for the community you serve.
Coming back to Park Avenue wasn’t just a presentation — it was coming home to the community that raised me.

I almost didn’t post this. But looking back at these photos —from a makeup artist who didn’t know she’d end up here, to saying goodbye to my dad in 2017, to somehow opening this business exactly one year later to the day—I had to.
I won’t pretend it’s been easy. Some years I was barely holding it together behind the smile. But I kept showing up. For clients, for myself, for the version of me that needed to prove something still could be built out of loss.
This post isn’t really about facials or business milestones. It’s about the fact that I’m still here, still doing what I love, still growing — nine years after the hardest day of my life.
