I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been having a tough time expressing myself without cursing about the wave of violence and hate crimes against the Asian community, my people. My heart is heavy, my blood is boiling, I am disgusted. Racism is not new and the unnecessary senseless and cowardly attacks that have been happening has manifested because of the pandemic. The Asian race is not a virus but hate is.

As Asian hate crimes and racism escalates, please help by educating yourself, your children and spread awareness. Call someone out when they are making racists remarks. I’ve had talks with my kids about racism since day one, what I’ve dealt with and teaching them to be strong and use their voice. How we raise our children to be accepting of all races can be the start to end racism, end hate.

My top 3 winter skincare tips to stay hydrated:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

1. Avoid hot showers or baths. I know taking a nice hot shower in the winter can feel so good but it really dries out the skin on your face and body.

2. Tweaking your skincare products. Use a thicker more hydrating type of moisturizer or adding a serum. The skin (including your body + hands) needs extra loving during the colder season.

3. Drinks lots of water + have your daily intake of antioxidant-rich fruits and veggies.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Oh you guys, I am so excited to announce that my new website www.jcluu.com is finally LIVE!!! So much hard work and late nights have been put into this and I can’t wait to go to bed at a decent time tonight.

When I first started in the industry 13 years ago, I designed my own website using good old HTML and Javascript. Eventually, I switched over to Wordpress that I also designed myself and had for years. Then it was time for another redesign. I did my own new logo but it was so hard making the most simple design decisions, let alone finding time to work on it for the past two years - so I took a break.

Many thanks to my girl , for giving me that nudge to reach out to Lindsay Writefully Simple. Lindsay is my incredibly talented and extremely patient designer that completely redesigned my website. This has been quite the process and I am so glad I did it. I can not thank you enough Lindsay for all your help and expertise the past few months.

Lindsay captured my vision perfectly as I wanted a modern, pretty and whimsical feel. I hope you all like my new website as much as I do!

Yesterday’s beautiful bride Audrey. We met for the first time on the big day because she had no time to do a trial. I loved creating this look and couldn’t have asked for a more sweet and beautiful group of ladies to kick off 2020 weddings with. 💕

My sweet winter bride from over the weekend. What’s my approach to ensuring my brides look perfect? Simply listening to what they want - not every bride is going to want full coverage foundation, winged liner, bold lips or a smokey eye. Each of my looks are customized based on personal preference.
