👶🧒 How to take a Mental Health Day
- with KIDS at home! 🚨
Ok so you've heard all about needing to give yourself time and space. ⏳🧘♀️
You know your outbursts are related to your constant taking care of little humans day in and day out. 🤱
You KNOW you need that rest, to enjoy some YOU time. 💅
But HOW?!
Kids do NOT make rest days easy do they?
If you mention to the little mischiefs that you're going to take a nap and dad is in charge, they seem to make a point to scream and yell for 3 hours straight! Am I right? 🗣
I FEEL this.
I am a mom AND childcare provider. Double whammy. When I'm not Momming, I'm STILL caring for little people. 🥱
So I've had to learn some wonderful tricks to feed my own self needs while not leaving kids to tear the house apart alone.
It IS doable. 🚨
First, they're not gonna die of malnutrition from having a day of cereal meals. Cereal for breakfast, cereal for lunch and, you guessed it, cereal for dinner.
Easy, peasy and kids are always down for that bowl of sugary wellness. 🥣
Second, turn on their favorite movie or show. Cocomelon anyone.... 🙄 BUT instead of having to spend hours listening to a disastrous kid singing songs or Chase saving the city, you can pop in your ear buds and play your favorite music or podcast. Your kid will be too happy you're watching TV with them all day to even notice you're not really paying attention. Break up the TV time by going on a walk around your yard or simple coloring, but all along keep YOUR choice of listening material in that ear. 🎬🍿
Third, kids can't read time until well into school. Unless you got one of those super smart ones, in which case just change your clocks and close the curtains. 🤣 Sending your kids to bed early so you can have that extra hour to take a bubble bath, sing in the shower or paint the sunset is OKAY. They get an extra hour of sleep and you get your sanity back. 😴💤

❗Signs you need a Mental Health Day❗
Ever have a moment where you can feel tears welting up below your eye lid but you're just not exactly sure why? 😢
Or a moment where punching that pillow seems like a wonderful idea? It probably is! Release those emotions, girl! 👊
But whatever the situation might be, it doesn't logically seem to be deserving of THESE intense of feelings?
Hunny, YOU need a day. A sick day. A stay in bed eating your favorite junk food and listening to your favorite music kinda sick day. 🛌😌
Those way out of their place emotions is your bodies way of saying
"HEY! I'M IMPORTANT TOO!" ❗
✋ Stop worrying about what others may think.
Stop believing your not worthy of rest.
Stop thinking the world will stop if you stop. 🛑
Every single human being needs a mental health day every now and then.
Feed your soul, feed those needs and listen to your own body.
Everything else CAN and WILL wait. 💖
⚠️Cut back on your sugar intake🍬
⚠️People who have more added sugar in their diets are more likely to have
🚨•diabetes
🚨•heart disease
🚨•high blood pressure
🚨•liver disease
🚨•and other serious illnesses
You may be able to cut your risk for those conditions if you eat less sugar. 🍬
That sugar will also rot your teeth.
↪The less added sugar you eat, the less tooth decay you'll experience. 🦷
Here's some simple tips to cut back on your sugar intake ⤵️
♡Toss the table sugar, syrup, sweetened honey and molasses. 🥞
♡Swap out the soda. 🥤
♡Eat fresh, frozen, dried or canned veggies. 🥕
♡Compare food labels and choose products with the lowest amounts of added sugars. 🏷
♡Add fruit. 🍇
👀I encourage you to take a look through your kitchen and consider replacing some of your high sugar items with healthier snacks or drinks.

⚠️Why NOT to ignore your Mental Wellness
🧠Sure, it's all in your head right? True. But that's exactly why it is SO important.
Our mental wellness is directly linked to our physical wellbeing. It might start in the brain, but effects the entire body.
Studies show that chronic stress can greatly increase your chance of stroke, heart attack and obesity just to name a few. 🥵
When our mind isn't healthy, the rest of us can't keep up.
Our mental wellness needs to be treated with the same importance as our physical health. The two work together in synchrony and we need to be mindful of this. 👩⚕️
When you start taking your mental wellness serious and not just talking about it, your entire quality of life will increase.
You'll have energy to do those work outs. 💪
You'll have clarity to solve any issues thrown your way. 🧘♀️
You'll have confidence that you ARE the beautiful, wonderful human being that you truly are. 😍
You'll have better moments with the people you interact with throughout your days. 👭
You'll have a sense of peace at the end of each day, even a sense if accomplishment. ✔

⚠️Why YOU should try Meditation⚠️
🧘♀️The basic concept of meditation is that it is a practice that connects the mind and the body.
😌Its purpose is to help increase both physical and mental peace and calm, which also helps you to learn how to live more fully in the present.
These benefits don't end when your meditation session ends.
↪Meditation can help carry you more calmly through your day and may help you manage symptoms of certain medical conditions.
🧘♀️How do you Meditate?
♡Sit or lie comfortably. You may even want to invest in a meditation chair or cushion.
♡Close your eyes.
♡Make no effort to control the breath; simply breathe naturally.
♡Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation.
⚠️I highly encourage you all to add a Meditation Session into your morning routine starting this Monday.
