For me, braiding isn’t just a hairstyle—it’s a tradition, a form of self-expression, and a way to connect with others. I realized I wanted to create a space where every client feels that same love and connection, while embracing their own unique beauty. Trusting the process is more than just a phrase—it's a journey of transformation, confidence, and celebration of who you are, from root to tip. How did you come up with the name "Trust the Process"?

Braiding is an art form that requires patience and precision. 'Trust the Process' perfectly captures the essence of this art. The name came to me when I realized how every step, every twist, and every braid is essential to the final masterpiece. It’s about trusting the craft, the skill, and the vision to bring out the best in every client.

I’ve always believed that the most beautiful things in life require patience and perseverance. ‘Trust the Process’ became my mantra, not just in braiding, but in my own life journey. Starting this business was a leap of faith, and the name serves as a reminder to myself and my clients that true beauty unfolds when you embrace the process, no matter how long it takes.

What do you love most about working with your clients?

Every time someone sits in my chair, it's more than just a hair appointment—it's a chance to create something beautiful together, a form of a therapy session, if you will! I cherish those moments when I see their faces light up, not just because of the hairstyle, but because they feel empowered and more confident in their own skin. Being part of that transformation is what makes this journey so rewarding for me.

What's one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

One thing people might be surprised to know about me is that I’m an extroverted introvert. While I love connecting with my clients and sharing in their stories, I’m actually more of an observer at heart. I find so much joy in quietly watching and understanding people, picking up on the little details that make them unique. It’s in those moments of observation that I really connect, and it helps me create styles that truly reflect who they are.

What’s your go-to song or playlist when you’re braiding?

I’m a chill person, so anything soothing really. I have a fire playlist that I usually have on repeat that features artists like Jhene, SZA, Summer, Victoria, like I just be vibing

Any tips for keeping braids looking fresh longer?

Wrap up with a scarf and silk bonnet every night!! No days off! Also, don’t be afraid to wash your braids, especially if you have an itchy scalp. You could also do an ACV wash and always have the option to have your braiding hair soaked in ACV before your appointment ☺️
