I LOVE the message and maybe the facts that it's a little pun-ny now that I have no b***s or a uterus. Let's be honest, I'm sweet, spicy, and all the wonderful things a woman is.... but I'm not always ladylike and I'm VERY proud of that. I come from a long line of fighters, and I'm proud to continue that tradition forward💪❤️🤘🤣
Also, 8 week check in. I'm feeling great, still can't sit up from bed or the couch but that will be another 4-6 before my abs & abdominal fascia are strong enough for that. Pain is minimal, just tightness in my stomach fascia. Scars are healing but still very prevalent and will be over the next year or so. .pmu will be doing some scar revision tattooing on my stomach to help minimize that in about 4 more months. SO excited for that!!

6 weeks! 6 weeks post-op. I got cleared by my plastic surgeon's NP to sleep flat, start exercising (slowly! And pretty much only upper body) TAKE A HOT BATH!! (which I may be doing right now🤷♀️) So many limitations that I now have gotten back, but still a long way to go. My scars are healing well but still are feeling very tight. I can massage over my scars which helps, but adding more strength and hopefully flexibility in a few weeks when I start adding in gentle abdominal exercises. I'm NO where near 100% but very happy with my progress so far, and so immensely grateful for all the people who have helped me & checked in along the way!!

4 weeks post-op update!! All drains came out at 2 weeks and that feels so much better! Still plenty of swelling and stiff/tightness depending on activity and rest, still so grateful for a strong body that's healing.
Finally get to wear a regular comfy bra🙏 Scars are healing well, get to start using scar tape to help them flatten out and heal better.
I've been doing OT for the last 3 weeks. Crazy right? I've able to increase my arm ROM to almost normal. Now I can do gentle strengthing.....yesterday I held 1 lb weights and I'm used to 25s but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sore today!
Moving in all the right directions, doing great but still lots of progress to make.

This is the cost of my reconstruction.... not the Mastecomy, not the Hospital stay, not the anesthesiologist, not the facility charges.... Just ONE part of this surgery😯😯😯
I am not poo pooing Froedert, my surgeons, or any of the hospital staff.. They were all phenomenal!! I am simply showing the cost of American Healthcare. The only country in the world where you can go bankrupt because you can't afford your medical bills, or worse.... you could die. I cannot imagine the level of care you receive when you cannot afford insurance or payments.
Please take care of your bodies. Your physical, mental & emotional health. Let us also please refrain American healthcare systems so that they aren't publicly traded FOR PROFIT industries.

Hi everybody! I made it out of surgery! Everything went really great. I'm experiencing a lot of tight/ soreness but that's what happens when they see your stomach back together. Thank you for all the prayers, well wishes, and good vibes. I'll update you all more later. Love you & thank you again for all the continued support.
