We’re beyond honored to carry on the legacy of Barbara Funamura—the brilliant local mind behind the invention of the Spam musubi. Born right here on the island of Kauaʻi, her creation has become a true symbol of local culture, comfort, and grindz. We’re also super stoked that Dan Funamura came by to teach us how to make musubis! Such an awesome moment to learn directly from her ʻohana and keep the tradition alive. Mahalo to HIKI NŌ and the talented students of Kauaʻi High School for producing this beautiful tribute video. It’s a full-circle moment to have her story told by the next generation, on the same island where it all began—and where we now get to serve her iconic creation with our own twist.
