After joking for years my joke came true… when I have a lil’ client that says, “After my haircut I get a donut!” Today I said (as I’ve said before), “Oh good, then you can bring me a donut too!” Well, while cutting my next client’s hair, my lil’ client Rowan opens the salon door with a stiff arm holding my donut out & says, “”Jewie” (Julie in a cute way!), we brought you a donut!!” I say, “Oh my goodness, thank you two so much!” I literally was shocked & quite happy!! I mean who’s going to turn down a donut!? 🍩 😋

A bit more detail: When Rowan mentioned that he gets a donut, I ask what donut are you going to get? He says a sprinkle donut! He asks what’s my favorite & I tell him a chocolate cream filled donut w/powder sugar! Voodoo doesn’t make them (not do many places anymore, unfortunately) but they did get me a cream filled chocolate cover donut! Which I also really like, either way I’ll take a donut! ☺️

Ella's mom wanted to surprise her! She didn't even know she was getting a haircut let alone bleach/color... anyway, her mom discretely asked Ella if she was ever to have color done when she's older what would she imagine... she said "ORANGE, like FLAMES on the ends!" So, we made that happen!! She came to the salon unknown today, I cut 7 inches off her hair, bleached it & added ORANGE "FLAMES"! 🔥 To say the least she was ECSTATIC!! Could barely control her excitement!! Both her, her mom & I were so happy she LOVED it!! 🥰

Additional story: Ella kept guessing where her mom was taking her on the way to the salon, she's said "family or friends place!?" Mom says "No"... BUT, when Ella got to the salon & we surprised her with the fact she's getting color she was so HAPPY! I start the cut and she tells me what she stated above, then she tells me, I think that mom was wrong because you're so nice, I consider you a FRIEND!! 🥰 I told her, well, I love that & consider you a friend as well!! (TEAR!) 🥰 She's the most fun, spunky & sweet 10 year old!

I want to tell you about Colin. Colin is a 19 year old autistic man. He has been TERRIFIED of haircuts his whole life…… The first time I met him for a haircut I wasn’t able to fully cut his hair… As soon as I entered the house he said “I’m SCARED of your tools!”… (especially clippers)… I told him “You don’t need to be scared, I don’t have to use clippers!” I spent about 45 minutes trying to cut his hair that day. I even cut my own hair to show him it’s ok & it doesn’t hurt. I tried many things. He did let me cut two spots of his hair & would not allow any more. He did agree that the cuts didn’t hurt & he couldn’t feel them! I promised Colin next time I come to cut his hair I would leave my clippers in my car. His mom texted me that evening… Photo 1 is what was said. My next visit the first words Colin said was “Did you leave your clippers in your car!?” I replied to him, “The clippers are in my car!” I showed him that I didn’t have any on me. That day I was able to fully cut his hair!! I have done another haircut since the first and scheduled his 3rd! Colin did even better this last time! I reassure him, show him confidence, calmness & I have earned his TRUST!!! I asked him if he trusts me & he said, “YES!”!!! Makes me feel SO happy!! But the BEST part of it all, Colin is so VERY proud of HIMSELF!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Picture 2 text is after his second haircut… I may have shed a tear or two afterer reading it… ❤️❤️❤️
