When we say wellness shouldn’t be a luxury, we mean: you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your back to soreness, neck to stiffness, or hips to tightness because you’ve been told that’s part of life.
“Focus on your career” they said. “This is for your retirement” they said.
Self-care is the act of caring for yourself- mind, body, ajd spirit. Rest is resistance. The more you keep yourself rested and ready, the more you’re ready for what life throws your way that you can’t sidestep (“miss me with the BS” is also self-care).
Keep yourself in no more pain than necessary. Your wellness is a right.
We are here to support.

My name is Devin A. Brown, my work lives at the intersection of body, earth, and story. As a licensed massage therapist and healing artist, I help people reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel grounding, restorative, and deeply personal.
My foundation blends therapeutic deep tissue, myofascial release, stretching, cupping, and intuitive craniosacral elements, all aimed at releasing patterns, easing inflammation, and restoring the nervous system to a place of safety and balance.
My private practice, DABCMT, centers body autonomy, nervous-system literacy, and sustainable wellness, inviting clients to understand not just where they hurt, but why, and what their body is asking for next.
Joining Body of the Earth feels like a natural extension of that work. I’m honored to be part of a q***r-, BIPOC-, and neurodivergent-led collective committed to making care accessible, affordable, and rooted in community!

The murder of Renee Good has likely been on all of our minds and as we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the extraordinary fight for civil rights, it’s obvious how intertwined history is with our current condition.
A lot has changed but at the same time, the fight largely remains the same. We’re still up against those who’d rather strip us of our rights than join the forward march towards all of us being free.
The powers may be want us too tired to continue this struggle. From speaking to community members, family and friends, it’s obvious that we’re all feeling the heaviness.
Please remember that this isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. If you’re feeling desensitized, numb or scared, those are completely understandable human responses.
Your capacity is going to ebb and flow through out this year. Keeping up the stamina to fight for your community isn’t a small feat, but is an essential part of staying in the fight. Please be kind to yourself. Rest is resistance.
If you can’t get out and protest, donate money, if you can’t donate money, offer your home as a safe space to express feelings of despair or to find some rest. Figure out how you can play your part in making the voices of marginalized communities heard.
Find the ways that call to you and don’t completely drain your resources. We all have a role to play, as long as we each do what we can, we’ll have the pieces to make up the Whole. Longevity and consistency is how we make an impact. Don’t let feelings of guilt and feeling like you aren’t doing enough lead you to burn out. ❤️
