One month ago, Nature's Syrup Beauty opened the doors to our first storefront. 🐝
It still feels surreal, and yet it feels completely natural. Familiar. Like home.
Our founder, De'Vonna, has been thinking about how much this season reminds her of bees.
"I used to be afraid of them. I would run, swat, and do anything I could to keep them away. Now, I'm willing to share my lunch with them. Not because I no longer respect their sting, but because I understand their purpose."
Bees help sustain the very things that nourish us. They pollinate, produce, and make life possible. What once frightened her, she now recognizes as essential. Maybe that's true of many of the things we fear most.
Opening a storefront was once intimidating. The financial responsibility, the visibility, the uncertainty, and the weight of creating something people could walk into and experience.
But this space has brought our mission closer to the people we serve. It has become a home for our products, our story, our culture, and our community.
One month in, we're deeply grateful for every person who's walked through our doors.

Watching this video back, I kept trying to figure out what that joy reminded me of, and then it hit me.
Christmas morning. 🥹
I remember the Christmas my mother got me and my sisters our first Cabbage Patch dolls. Y'all remember how BIG those dolls were back then?! Everybody wanted one.
My mother had hidden ours in the attic. She could barely afford them, but somehow, some way, she made it her business to make sure her girls had one.
And I remember the JOY.
That little girl on Christmas morning is exactly who you see in this video.
That is what opening my first brick-and-mortar Nature's Syrup Beauty store felt like.
Pure. Unfiltered. JOY.
After all the years of building, believing, sacrificing, figuring it out, starting with what I had, and continuing even when I couldn't fully see where this journey was taking me, I walked into something I once could only dream about.
And just like my mother made a way for her girls all those years ago, I realize I've spent years making a way for this dream.
When that ribbon was cut, I wasn't thinking about the hard days. I wasn't thinking about what it took to get there.
I was just HAPPY.

There are moments you dream about for years, and then one day, you're standing in the middle of them.
This week, I watched people fill a store that once only existed in my imagination.
Nine years ago, Nature's Syrup Beauty was born at my kitchen table. Every market, every late night, every setback, every customer who believed in this vision helped lead to this moment.
Walking through our Grand Opening, seeing hugs exchanged, hearing laughter, watching people discover our products for the first time. It reminded me that businesses don't grow because of one person. They grow because a community decides they're worth believing in.
Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for believing in Nature's Syrup Beauty.
