Seated Adductor Stretch Video goes live today at 9am on YouTube.
Your inner thigh muscles and your lower back are more connected than you might realize.
The adductors attach all the way up into the p***c bone. They help stabilize the pelvis and the leg together. When they are tight, that stability shifts, and the lower back starts compensating. This stretch addresses that connection directly.
I walk through a single-leg version and a wide-leg version. You can use a rolled towel or yoga mat under the knees if you need support. Toes back towards you, sit tall, and let it slowly open. Stretches take time. We are not pushing through, we are slowly lengthening with the breath.

Think of your fascia as a one-piece bodysuit of super-thin, but super-strong crocheted tissue wrapping you from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head.
Pull on one corner and the whole suit responds.

Your Lats (latissimus dorsi) and QLs, (quadratus lumborum), are essential to lengthen to reduce tension in both your shoulders and your low back. The mermaid stretch reaches them both.
Knees go one direction, feet go the other. Sitting mostly on one side of the hip, reach up and over in the direction your knees are pointing first. That is the direction of ease. Then reach toward your feet for the bigger, deeper stretch.
Go back and forth slowly, with your breath. It often feels different after a couple of rounds.

Fascia is the thin, weblike connective tissue that dynamically wraps every muscle, organ, and bone in your body.
When it is healthy, it glides and responds with plasticity.
When it is restricted, you feel it as stuckness, tightness, pain, or a limited range of motion.
