-They do this for a living!!! Your stylist wants to be challenged as well as see something new or practice a style they’ve done similar. You are their portfolio, you are what helps them build their skill no matter how experienced your stylist may be.
-Stylist get the experience and learn their expertise from every interaction they get with everyone who sits into their chair. Whom ever you are working with, should be upfront and straight forward with your hair goals and what their abilities are.
-Ask and you learn, not only is the stylist there to make you look fabulous. They are there to help educate you with your hair. If you don’t think a style would look well on you but really like it, the stylist can help you in what products they can use to achieve the look and what can be done to your hair look.

SIP BEFORE YOU LIP!! Brides you want your makeup artist to do you and your bridal parties lips for last!!
Doing lips for last is so crucial, it allows you and your bridal party to not feel stuck when you are still preparing for the whole day.
-Eating and drinking are so important!! When you have your whole makeup done with lips, you are unable to eat and drink comfortably. You could get lipstick on your face, transfer it off and needing touch up, as well as drying out your lips from touching it up too much. Leaving lips for last ensures you can comfortably do what you need before you actually leave for the big day.

There are so many reasons why as makeup artists we stand towards the side.
-We can see better view of your face structure. To your contours of the face, jawline, cheekbones, brow shape, and nose profile. When we see it straight on it’s harder to get those angles and perfectly put makeup on where your face is structured. Your face isn’t symmetrical, we as well compare both halves.
-Lighting lighting lighting!! Using makeup lights are great, but not when we block the lights that are in front of you.
-Standing off to the side will give us more of a stable hand positioning, we can brace our hands more comfortably especially with precision work.
-Personal space is a big one, we don’t want to seem all grabby. Especially not in your face and handsy when this is supposed to be relaxed and fun!
-If you have photographers and hairstylists, this also works better for everyone else’s job to run smoothly.

Eyes should always be the first thing you do. There’s so many reason and benefits to doing your eye makeup first.
-Your eyes are the easiest thing to mess up. When you have your base all done, there’s more likely a chance to accidentally get mascara or eyeshadow on your base and when you use makeup remover you’ll notice your base products make not work the same. You’re putting products of an ingredient that aren’t the properties of your base products especially when you don’t take the time for that area to dry.
-When you do it first you’re able to correct without having the problem of starting over on your base or your base products grabbing on to your eye products.
-This is a plus but you’re able to create more interesting fun eye looks. You see those extravagant bold eye looks, they do the eye makeup first. You allow yourself to have more of a canvas to create different looks when you don’t limit yourself just to the base makeup.

On your big day, you want your hair to LAST all day. Any well educated stylist would not let you go without some product in your hair. As much as they will stand by your wishes you should expect some product within your hair style.
-There are many different hair types, your stylist with have a wide selection of products that will fit your hair needs. To adding more volume, no fizz, holding curls, slicking back, no heat damage and more.
-Any stylist will tell you that yes you may have the ideal hair to last and look well rounded, but this isn’t just any day. This is your special day, they want to make sure you’re happy as can be with your look and knowing there won’t be any problems with your hair throughout your wedding day.
-For the best outcome and results, trust your stylist and be vocal about your needs and wants for your hair. Their job is to give you an amazing look, while also helping you be educated on your hair. They do this for a living for a reason!

When you have the bride in between the order of getting ready, it ensures that your makeup and hair artist take the time to get your look perfect.
On your day you will want to be able to eat, hydrate, see your bridal party/loved ones, take the time for yourself to relax, and be able to get into your dress.
-If you start the bride at the very beginning, you aren’t sure how the makeup will hold while getting ready and how the hair could fall.
-Starting too late, you will feel rushed and your makeup and hair artist will not have the timing to prioritize you.
