I’ve had a few people ask how this new Daily Boost hair serum compares to MONAT’s IR Clinical serum, so others and I looked into the ingredients and what they’re actually targeting.

Here’s the simple, honest breakdown:

Daily Boost takes more of a multi-targeted approach. It’s designed to support:
• hormonal-related shedding
• stress-related shedding
• scalp health
• circulation
• overall hair strength

So it’s looking at several factors at once, which I thought was really interesting.

MONAT’s serum focuses more on supporting the hair growth cycle and helping stimulate follicles, which is also important and something a lot of people see results with.

The best way I’d explain the difference:

👉 MONAT focuses on supporting and encouraging growth
👉 Daily Boost focuses on supporting growth while also addressing multiple underlying factors

Neither is “bad” or “better for everyone” … it really depends on what your hair needs.

You all know my hair… it’s always been thin, and between hormone treatment, shedding, and extensions, it’s taken a hit. A few months ago I stepped back from my LL business to focus on things happening within my community and to give myself the space I needed personally. The work I do outside of LL has been incredibly heavy, and I needed time to be present for that and to take care of myself too.

I’ve been slowly finding my way back and wanting to re-engage more intentionally. I’ll be honest, it has felt a little strange stepping back into this space while so many difficult things continue to happen in our communities. At times it can feel odd talking about skincare and business in the middle of that.

But something I’ve realized during this time is how much routine and self-care actually matter. In the middle of heavy work and hard moments, the small things like washing my face, taking a few minutes for myself, slowing down. All have been so grounding for me. Those simple routines have been a way for me to decompress and reset.

And that’s really why I started this in the first place. It’s been about helping people feel cared for, confident, and reminded that they deserve moments for themselves too.

So as I step back in and find my rhythm again, I’d love to share a little of that with others. I’m putting together some small self-care packs to send out to anyone who might need a reminder to take care of themselves right now.

Not just in appearance, but in who we are as Indigenous Peoples.
For so long, media pushed one narrow idea of what “looks Native,” and it ignored the actual depth and diversity of our Nations.

The beauty world rarely showed:
• our humor
• our strength
• our auntie energy (you baddies know who you are 😉)
• our connection to land, language, and community
• our teachings, our stories, our responsibility to each other
• our resilience
• the way we honor our relatives
• the responsibility we feel to our communities

That’s our beauty. Doesn’t matter if you “look Native” by their standards or not… we know better.
