Recently, I was privileged to attend the ribbon cutting of the THIRD Mrs. Field's Closet location at Minot North High School . I am incapable of putting into words how proud I am of Tammy White’s dedication to our community of young people and the mere fraction of support that was there to witness another milestone for her non-profit. That room was packed! And there were still more hanging back in the hallway outside the doors.

I’ve been told that when things get overwhelming, get back to the basics. Basics are what provide a strong foundation to build on. And the basics that Mrs. Field’s Closet provides, isn’t just tangible essentials. It’s a conversation. It’s the enlightenment of what is needed, not just wanted. A conversation opens the door to communication. Communicating needs, wants, aspirations. A conversation opens doors to confidence. Confiding in someone else, confiding in themselves.

Confidence is empowering. Empowered youth turn into empowered adults. That is a pillar I am proud to be behind and cheer on. It takes a village, and sometimes the simplest of things, the smallest gesture, can make a world of difference.

Mrs. Field’s Closet has just issued an official press release announcing the opening of our third in-school resource closet at Minot North High School! 💙💛

From our humble beginnings at Longfellow Elementary to expanding into Central Middle School and now Minot North, this milestone highlights the incredible growth of our mission: empowering students by providing school supplies, clothing, and hygiene essentials—so every child can learn with dignity.

Since 2019, we’ve served more than 2,500 students and provided over 11,000 items—and the need continues to grow. With the upcoming opening of Ramstad Middle School, the press release highlights how community support is driving this important initiative.
