HAIR PEACE 5K EVENT DETAIL AND SCHEDULE

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Women of H.O.P.E. Intl. The Hair Peace & Hope 5K Run/Walk will be presented at Miramar Regional Park in Miramar, FL.

PACKET PICKUP: Your swag bag will be available for early pick-up on October 27, 2023, at Runners-Depot at 1378 Weston Road, Weston, FL 33326, from 3 pm-7 pm or race-day morning during on-site registration at 6:00 am.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Please remember to bring your ID so you can receive your Bib.
Onsite Registration will be open from 6:00 am - 7:00 aM
(The size of t-shirts is not guaranteed for race day registrations.)

Zumba warm-up starts at 7:15 am
The race begins at 7:30 am sharp
The hair Peace Run/Walk 5K loop course will occur inside the Miramar Regional Park.

Our Certified 5K course is a flat, quick race for avid runners and walkers from all walks of life.
Split Second timing will be timing all participants and will make race results available online.

You must enter from the Miramar Regional Park, south entrance on 172nd Avenue.

Volunteers will be there to direct your path on the course.
Medals will be waiting for you at the finish Line!
Awards and Podium Presentation: 9:30-10:00 am

Light refreshments will be made available for all runners.
Parking will be available in the park.

If I had a dime for every time I heard "you don't look sick" over the years, I probably wouldn't have to work anymore. Mixed Connective Tissue Disease is an autoimmune disease in which the body's defense system attacks itself. Most of the time, the abbreviation MCTD is used to refer to this disease. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't just have one disease on the list of autoimmune diseases. I have several. MCTD is referred to as an overlap disease because the signs and symptoms are a combination of disorders, Lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis. People with MCTD may have a combination of various autoimmune diseases, including Sjogren's disease.

Hi everybody, I need your help and support,
I am chairwoman of Hair Peace & Hope 5k Run/Walk, and I am excited to return in person and virtual for those who can't make it in person. But, now more than ever, I need your support. Women of H.O.P.E. Intl. Will present the Hair Peace and Hope 5K Run/Walk at Miramar Regional Park.

The Hair Peace and Hope 5K is an annual event that started to help and support those suffering from autoimmune and Mixed Connective Tissue diseases, resulting in devastating pain and hair loss.

We have managed to go beyond providing wigs to applicants. Recognizing that the debilitating effects of the disease extend beyond hair loss, we have been able to get support and resources to these individuals in many other ways.

In our 5th year, we will run or walk with a purpose to raise awareness and support those in need. Join us at Miramar Regional Park on October 30th at 7:00

Meet TanyaMeet our Hair Peace and Hope 5k Ambassador, Tanya Milhomme-Simmons Esq. In 1998, she was diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, an autoimmune disease in which the body’s defense system attacks itself. Although Tanya has battled multiple devastating side effects, such as hair loss, she declares, "I have mixed connective tissue disease. But, unfortunately, mixed connective tissue disease does not have me."
