Our Legacy
Legacy Salon was founded and built by husband, father, and stylist Lu Burton who began doing hair after being injured in the mines. His two youngest daughters, Cara and Jeanette, grew up in the house next to the salon and were frequent visitors throughout their childhood. Lu’s style was unique and affordable and he quickly became well-known in Missoula.
In 1995, Cara finished beauty school and joined Lu at the salon as a stylist at just 22. After his retirement, Cara took over the salon as lead stylist. When he passed in 2011, she assumed full leadership of the salon and continued to develop her own vision and further her clientele.
Cara is a loving mother of two daughters, a wonderful partner, and a friend to all she meets. She is proud to continue the legacy of her father through her work and hopes to provide the same welcoming environment her father created nearly 50 years ago.
