The biggest myth about being self-employed?

That I can just take off whenever I want. 🤣

The truth is, my clients usually have my schedule planned before I do. If I want a random day off or even just a scheduled day off, that requires a lot more planning than most people realize.

So no, I can’t be spontaneous… but I am incredibly grateful for every appointment on my books. 🫶🏻

Her sister has been coming to me for years, and every time she’s home visiting from Japan, she books a brow appointment too.

Strawberry blonde brows require a little extra precision. It’s never about making them darker. It’s about finding the perfect tone and shape to create definition while still looking completely natural.

This week, I learned that one of the sweetest clients I’ve had the privilege of knowing unexpectedly passed away. She was always so kind, generous, and an absolute joy to have in my studio. Our appointments were spent listening to her requested ’90s and 2000s country music while I did her lashes, and I always looked forward to seeing her.

I was told that she had been excited to see this video posted, and that during her final days in the hospital, she was so proud of her lashes and all the compliments she received. Knowing that something I did helped her feel beautiful during such a difficult time is something I will carry with me forever.

Thank you for trusting me and for bringing so much sweetness into my studio. It was truly an honor to know you and to be your lash artist. I’ll think of you every time one of our country songs comes on. 🤍🪽

There are few things more American than building something from nothing.

Every day I unlock the door to my little studio, I’m reminded that I get to live a dream that countless people around the world only hope for. The freedom to own a business, work with my hands, serve my community, and build a life for my family is a gift I don’t take lightly.

This country isn’t perfect, but I truly believe the opportunities it offers are unlike anywhere else. Hard work, perseverance, and a dream can still open doors, and I’m incredibly grateful to live in a nation where that’s possible.

Today we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy because of the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect them. Their courage has given so many of us the chance to pursue our own version of the American dream.
