🖤Who has heard of pine tar???? Pine tar is a traditional soap ingredient with a long history. It’s been used in Scandinavian and Nordic soaps for centuries (that dark, distinctive “smoky campfire” smell is its signature). It’s made by slowly carbonizing pine wood (usually the resinous heartwood/stumps) in a low-oxygen kiln, which produces a thick, dark, sticky liquid full of aromatic compounds.
