Our sweet girl turns 3 years old today! A birthday we prayed so hard for. She is so full of life and happiness, very much hard headed and strong willed and so very smart. Happy Birthday to our warrior.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

This girl right here is something else! Our number check went great today! We have been given the clear for her to return to school tomorrow. Her platelet count over the weekend rose to where we did not even need a transfusion today! We will return back to USA in two weeks to do another number check, this is if there are no signs of bruising or other bleeding before then. She is so excited to be able to see her friends and teachers tomorrow.

🧡Thank you to everyone who has prayed and checked on us! One day at a time, but everyday together is an absolute blessing! 💛

‼️UPDATE‼️

We got the bone marrow results back and got to talk to our doctor here in Mobile. No signs of cancer in the marrow 🙏 She said this is great news obviously! Also says she sent off a genetic testing of Jaycee Jeans cells. It can take up to three weeks to get back. That will show if she has pre cancerous cells in there. Didn’t know about that one. So still waiting.

But as of right now we are in the clear of cancer. Her Birmingham doctor said her results look great too! We texted him personally, he’s amazing! But have to figure out the platelet situation. They are still thinking it is viral related but have to find a way to keep her body from killing them. Her marrow is working perfectly and at full capacity but something in her blood is killing the platelets. Hoping the steroids help this weekend and we will do a number check or CBC on Monday to see if they are sticking.

Thank you to everyone for praying once again! God has not and will not let us down. What ever is thrown our way we will keep our faith and understanding in his plans and decisions. This has been very scary for everyone. PTSD is a real thing! 💛💜

We are out of surgery and back home enjoying some BBQ chips. This morning we started off with a platelet transfusion again because we did drop over the weekend back down into critical on the number scale. For the first time Jaycee had a major reaction to this transfusion and broke out in hives all over and started coughing. It was very scary! Thank goodness for our amazing nurses at the Hope clinic who knew exactly what to give. Reactions are pretty common when it comes to platelets but not as quick and severe as hers. Once we got that under control we were able to go ahead with the bone marrow biopsy to see if there are any signs of cancer or any other genetic stuff going on. These results will take two to three days to get back. In the mean time we have to stay nice and calm of course because of her platelet count. We will also start some heavy steroids tomorrow to see if that will help her little body start producing platelets on her own. If everything goes okay these next few days without any reactions, symptoms and or bleeding we will return Monday for a full blood work again, including platelet check to see if the steroids are working.

Our girl is in good spirits and happy to be back home in her element 💛💜

💛💜A little update❤️‍🩹

Jaycee Jeans numbers last night showed to have very low platelets, which was what was causing the bruising and petechiae. Her white blood cells and ANC were slightly elevated as well. But she did test positive for Rhino virus, which is a common cold. She received her platelet transfusion around 6 last night. She had another round of labs at 4am. All her numbers are perfect on that test except her platelets which are still low. She had an ultra sound on her spleen and those results were great as well This biggest test had to come from pathology which just came back. They all look good which is a huge sign that if it was a cancer that its not acute and possibly means no relapse. But they do have us scheduled Tuesday for a bone marrow aspiration to make it 100% of no cancer. There is a possibility that the JMML could still be back and or another form of leukemia. I’m not saying IF I’m praying WHEN that biopsy comes back negative we can then take the next steps to figuring out what is causing the platelets to drop so low. We are praying that this rhino virus is the reason for the platelet drop and her body starts producing them again on its own. And there is a possibility it could ITP which is a problem with the immune system. So we do not have a definite answer just yet but we do have a lot of Hope.

We will be discharged from the hospital here soon , they feel confident she has enough platelets now since the transfusion that she will be ok until tuesday !

Thank you to everyone that has prayed and checked on us. Please don’t stop praying!!🙏 Once again Jaycee Jean has been so strong and is doing awesome in spirit! The only time she has slowed down is for her naps.ll

If you can hit your knees and pray please keep our Jaycee Jean in them. She has had some bruising this week that became concerning to us. Took her to the pediatrician and did a quick lab check and all her numbers look okay other than her platelets. They are incredibly low. We have been in touch with UAB and our doctors here at USA. We came straight to the ER and are being admitted for an over nighter. The plan now is to run more labs and get a platlet transfusion going. There are many things this can be from. Most are absolutely terrible but there are a few that can be easily managed. We are praying to the Lord we get an easy one and that she hasn’t relapsed 🙏

Just a little update. Our Jaycee Jean walked back in to her amazing daycare this morning. They had bulletin boards and the entire hallway covered in signs made from not only teachers but all her friends she is going to make! All of her past teachers and office staff with her village shirts on! We have been so blessed with this journey and today was a day that everyone has been waiting and praying for. So blessed to have her Life Church village praying and fighting with us and waiting for her every day to return.

‼️‼️One year ago to this date Jaycee Jean received her bone marrow transplant from her big sister Jordyn Hope. Even though we had gone through chemotherapy for months prior before, this was officially her new birth date. One year later we are here all together and So Happy to Announce 📣 Jaycee Jeans last biopsy came back 100% Cancer FREE📣There will always be a few check ups along the way but to see to this end is amazing thing. ‼️

Thank you so much for all the prayers and support! We will never stop praying for her remission to stick. But for now we celebrate!! 🎉 💛🧡

One year ago to this date we walked into Children's of Alabama not knowing what was about to happen to our little girl and our family. After 8 months of chemo locally we traveled to Birmingham , April 8th 2024 started her transplant journey and regiment plan .
We are so happy to Hopefully walk out of these doors for the last time today. This morning Jaycee had to be put to sleep for her last biopsy, God willing. We will not know our 1 year post transplant biopsy for another week or so but we feel so lucky to still be holding both our healthy beautiful girls. The results we got back today though looked great and our team felt very comfortable that our cancer journey has found a happy ending.

We can not put into words how blessed and loved we have felt from all of our friends and family during this. We could not have made it without God first and without every single one of you that has prayed for Jaycee and our family ! 💛💛

After we left great wolf lodge most of you know that we headed to UAB for a lab check! Jaycee Jean’s numbers came back and they were fantastic!!!! 👏 👏 💛🧡 at only 10 months post transplant she has been taken off all medications! Even the doctor said she is remarkable, which we already knew both of our girls are just that!

The next step will be one more lab check here in Mobile and then we are scheduled for April 8th at UAB for hopefully her last bone marrow biopsy. If she is still 100% cancer free we get to fire all doctors and return back to “normal” life. Life will never be normal for us, you learn that quickly in the cancer life. But looking back we are starting to see the silver lining in that. We have all grown together, learned to love harder and most importantly Pray harder! Please keep our girl and family in your prayers. WE ARE ALMOST THERE!!! 💛🧡
