A retired nurse, she brings a lifetime of knowledge about medicines, herbs, health, and the life skills that keep us well. She doesn’t just enjoy life — she continues to share her wisdom and love with everyone around her. 🌿💚

Here at Dr. Nettles USDA Organic Farm, we’re covering the seed pods of our green tea plants with protective mesh as they mature. 🍃

Our green tea plant, Camellia sinensis, produces beautiful seeds that we carefully collect and save for future planting. By covering the seed pods with mesh, we help protect them from wildlife and prevent the precious seeds from being lost.

Every seed we save represents a future plant, a future harvest, and another opportunity to restore nature and protect our environment. 🌎💚

What a beautiful day of learning, connecting, and giving back! I had the joy of working alongside my fellow Master Gardener Melissa Curtis as we participated in the Pollinator Census with our wonderful community at the Connie Hudson Senior Community Center and local childcare centers.

We brought together our seniors and our youngest gardeners to observe, identify, count, and learn about the pollinators that are so important to our food system and our environment. 🐝🦋🌸

There is something special about connecting generations through gardening. Our seniors share their wisdom and experience, while our young people bring curiosity, excitement, and fresh ideas. Together, we are planting seeds of knowledge that will grow for years to come. 🌱❤️

I’m so proud to be part of a community that believes in teaching, gardening, protecting our pollinators, and growing together!
