Shrinkage is NOT the enemy! ➿🌱✨

One of the biggest misconceptions about natural hair is that shrinkage means your hair isn’t growing. In reality, shrinkage is basically a sign of healthy, hydrated, and elastic hair. As your hair dries, the curls naturally curl back up, making your hair appear much shorter than it actually is.

The tighter your curl pattern, the more shrinkage you may experience, and that’s completely normal! Some natural hair can shrink 50–80% of its actual length. Check out baby girl’s hair below.⬇️

Just embrace it. It’s only proof that your curls are doing exactly what they’re supposed to do. If you want to show off more length, styles like twist-outs, braid-outs, blowouts, and silk presses can temporarily stretch your hair without changing its natural texture.

Remember shrinkage doesn’t mean your hair isn’t growing. All it means is your curls are healthy enough to spring back.➿We always want healthy hair over long hair, every time.
