If you're able to homeschool your kids, do it. If you want your kids to grow up with morals that are opposite to yours, let the government raise them. If you want your kids to learn how to be easily offended ---> government. If you want your kids to act like mindless, followers ---> government.

Be present in your children's lives. Allow them to be open with you and do NOT stop them from speaking to you. Allow them to speak freely. You can teach them respect in the process. They are not adults, so meet them at their level, not at the level of an adult.
