Suddenly losing your hair?
I’ve been seeing this issue in my chair a lot lately and the culprit may not be what you expect! Hair loss, can just be a natural part of aging, but sudden hair loss can be a result from some thing more complex. Alopecia, the medical term for hair loss, is a complex condition with many variations. From slow-progressive balding to more rapid patchy loss such as alopecia areata. Genetics, hormonal changes, inflammation, and even certain diseases – including, in some cases, COVID-19 can trigger temporary or permanent hair loss. Another culprit may also be prescription medication’s. These may also trigger excessive and sudden shedding. When the body experiences trauma sudden, substantial shedding can occur. These triggers can include an acute illness stress and severe nutritional deficiency, rapid weight loss, or a drug that proves toxic to hair follicles. When a drug is the culprit, this leads to increased shedding. This condition is known as Drug-induced Telogen Effluvium. A variety of medications that may cause it: beta blockers, blood thinners, antidepressants, cholesterol lowering drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, hormone related drugs, or steroids. It could also be a sign of other health issues. Is your hairstylist the professional to see when you’re experiencing these issues? NO! While we may be able to help you realize there is a bigger issue going on and help you to get through some of the problems that are caused by hair loss, we are not qualified to diagnose your hair loss causes and treatment. Always seek out the advice of a doctor and ask for a referral to a dermatologist. Dermatologists are extremely important in helping diagnose hair loss issues, it’s causes and suggest potential treatments. Sudden hair loss can be traumatic, but it may be reversible! It just takes time, patience and effort in seeking out the correct advice from a dermatologist. hair

Balayage or Foilayage? This color has been built over a couple sessions. Last time we did mostly Balayage this time for touching up and maintenance we did Foilayage. Either way results in a bright and low maintenance Blonde.

I’m loving the Amber tones on this Balayage. I wish I would’ve had better lighting for this one, but it’s tough to take pics at night.
