✨ A Small Business Reality Check ✨

When you look at this photo, you probably see a happy, thriving family — and that’s true. But what you don’t see are the long hours, the sacrifices, the love, and the determination that go into keeping this small business running.

As a mom, a full-time employee, and a salon owner, I pour my heart into my work. Even when I’m not physically in the salon, I’m constantly thinking about how to accommodate clients, rearrange my schedule, and make sure I can deliver the best experience possible.

That’s why no-shows are so disheartening. Today, I received a last-minute booking while on my lunch break. I was thrilled — Wednesdays are usually full, so it’s hard to squeeze clients in. I rearranged my evening, left my full-time job early, set up my space, and waited. Unfortunately, the client never showed up, and the card on file had insufficient funds for the no-show fee.

Here’s the reality: every appointment slot matters. My time is valuable — it’s time away from my family, from my children, and from the countless other responsibilities I juggle. When someone doesn’t show up, it’s not just an inconvenience; it directly impacts my livelihood.

Thankfully, situations like this don’t happen often, but when they do, they serve as a reminder: small business owners and independent beauty professionals rely on their clients to honor their bookings. We work hard to support our families and provide for our communities, just like anyone else.

So please — if you need to cancel or reschedule, reach out. I promise, I am always understanding when life happens or mistakes are made with booking times. But showing up matters — not just for you, but for us too.

☀️The wait is over, the news you’ve all been waiting for! ☀️

Sometimes you close the book in the middle of the chapter and feel like you’ll never pick it up again. Then the world works in mysterious ways and that book gets opened at the right time and you begin where you left off and never look back. When I closed the chapter with the Awaken Beauty girls to open up in Milan I thought that was going to be my home for Beauty & Face Esthetics but the universe had other plans and had me shut the book on that chapter as well. Turns out my home was always supposed to be with Awaken Beauty because just when I was starting to think I was never going to get back into what I love, Tara reached out and offered me an opportunity to share their space and be able to start taking clients again! So with that, my book was opened again with a smiling face and I will be opening back up with salon hours to be able to see all of my beautiful clients and get back into making you all feel beautiful & just in time for all the summer waxing! I will only be opening up Wednesday evenings to start from 5-9pm with more availability down the line. I am currently working on my booking site. Once I have my books finished I will post it to show all of my availability. I will be in Moline inside Shangri-La Salon & Day Spa and the address is 1570 36th Avenue Moline, IL 61265. My first night taking clients again will be June 4th, 2025! Thank you so much to all of you for sticking by my side during all of my highs and lows of being an Esthetician and my moves to new spaces! I appreciate it more than you know! 🤍

Dear Clients,

With a heavy heart my last day at the salon will be on Dec 3rd, I have decided that financially for my family it was the best decision to close the doors on my chapter at . The people there have been nothing short of amazing and incredibly supportive! Unfortunately with working a full time job and only being at the salon 2-3 days a week and not having full books I have had to make the decision to close temporarily. I do have plans to reopen in the future however I do not know how long those plans will take and want to be fully transparent with you guys. I hope that my regulars and even new clients stick with me in this transition process! I will keep everyone updated on all the plans I have coming for 2025 🤍 This is not a goodbye but a see ya later! My books will remain open until Dec 3rd and if you have already scheduled appointments past that I will be in contact with you!

⚠️ Clients, my GlossGenius account has been hacked and I have been locked out of my account since last night, please if you have ever came to me in the last few years and used any cards with me or had a card on file with me, check your accounts! I just had a client reach out to let me know she was affected by this issue. I also have no way of reaching clients that are scheduled with me for the next few weeks so if you have an appointment scheduled with me please text me ASAP so we can discuss your appointments! I have reached out to their support team and I’m waiting for a response back from them! I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and to have this issue resolved as quickly as I can! In the meantime time please do not use my booking website & if you want an appointment please reach out to me personally! I am completely upset over this and will make this right as soon as possible! ⚠️

Road Closure Announcement

Please be advised that a portion of Andalusia Road (10th Ave E / 78th Ave) will be CLOSED at Mill Creek Bridge (between 8th St E and Knoxville Road) from October 21st through November 11th. During this time, there will be no through traffic allowed.

Traffic Detours:

West of the Bridge: All traffic will exit Andalusia Road via US 67.

East of the Bridge: All traffic will exit Andalusia Road via the Milan Beltway or Knoxville Road.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. Please plan your routes accordingly and drive safely.
