Does switching to safer skincare seem like a daunting task!? It doesn’t have to be.
A plan for where to start and how to start can help!
Here’s what helped me in my journey.
I reviewed my products, researched what was safe or not safe and then swapped the unsafe products for safer products.

1️⃣Review:
Consider your whole routine for skincare and personal care products. On average, women use 12 personal care products a day. Men use 6 personal care products daily. And, teens (primarily girls) use 17.
What do you use daily or multiple times a day?

2️⃣Research:
Then research your products.
Be aware of green-washing. Green-washing is the process of providing misleading information about how a company's products are more environmentally sound. Not everything that is “natural” is harmless and not everything that is synthetic is toxic. Two companies that can provide vast information about the safety of your products are:
-Environmental Working Group’s Healthy Living (Skin Deep). It’s a free app (iOS or Android) or you can review through your internet browser. Type in the product and see how it rates on a scale of 1 to 9.
-Think Dirty app (iOS or Android). Currently, it features over a million products for review.

3️⃣Swap:
Prioritize the products you use most frequently, especially the ones that rate as highest offender for unsafe ingredients. Take one swap at a time. When your current products run out, look for similar alternatives from companies who don’t use synthetic fragrance, parabens, endocrine disruptors, formaldehyde, and other problematic ingredients. Beautycounter bans 1800 of these unsafe ingredients. 🙌🏼
