Monroe House of Beauty is looking for a stylist who wants to build! We are especially looking for someone interested in Saturdays and same-day/new-client opportunities. We recently had multiple clients seeking Saturday services that we couldn’t accommodate. If you’re a newer stylist trying to build a book—or an established stylist looking for additional clientele—there is opportunity here.

Not all hair color is created equal — and “available over the counter” doesn’t automatically mean it’s the best choice for your hair.

Some at-home permanent dyes may contain ingredients such as PPD/PTD, ammonia or MEA, resorcinol, and peroxide. These ingredients have legitimate uses in hair color, but they can also cause allergic reactions, scalp irritation, dryness and breakage, especially when products are overused, improperly mixed, overlapped, or applied to already-compromised hair.

⚠️ We’re especially cautious about:
• Repeated dark box dye applications
• Metallic/progressive dyes
• Unregulated or unknown color products
• High-strength lighteners/developers used at home
• Coloring over previously damaged hair

And here’s something guests don’t always realize: what you put on your hair today can affect what we’re able to safely do months from now. Major color corrections often start with years of at-home color history.

Professional color isn’t just about the tube of color — it’s about formulation, chemistry, timing, your hair history, and knowing when NOT to process the hair.

Same-day appointments may still be available depending on which stylist is working, so you’re always welcome to call or message us to check availability!

We highly recommend booking ahead—especially for Fridays and Saturdays—to make sure we can get you taken care of.

I’m now offering FREE shadowing opportunities on Friday evenings and Saturdays for current beauty school students and newly licensed cosmetologists who want to gain real-world salon experience.

During your shadow day, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to run a successful salon, including:

🧼 Cleaning color bowls and maintaining workstations

As many of you know, being a hairstylist is one of my greatest passions—but being a mom will always come first. ❤️

* Please note: These are my personal hours only. Monroe House of Beauty will continue operating during our regular business hours. I encourage everyone to reach out directly to your individual stylist when booking appointments, as each stylist manages their own schedule and availability.

If my schedule doesn’t work for you, I also have an amazing team at Monroe House of Beauty who would love to take care of you. Supporting them helps support our growing salon, and I know you’ll be in great hands.

With fall sports starting, I’ll be adjusting my personal schedule over the next few months so I can be there to cheer on my kids while still taking care of all of you.

My temporary fall schedule will be:
✨ Monday: 10 AM – 8 PM
✨ Tuesday: 10 AM – 3 PM
✨ Wednesday: Off
✨ Thursday: 10 AM – 3 PM
✨ Friday: 4 PM – 8 PM
✨ Saturday: Off

If you’re someone who usually books with me on Saturdays, don’t worry! I’ll be opening Sunday appointments for clients who need weekend availability.

This schedule is temporary through the fall and will change again in December as we move into basketball and competitive cheer season. I’ll continue to keep everyone updated as my family’s schedule changes.
