You sit for a few hours. Your back starts to ache.
You stand up, walk around, maybe stretch a little. It feels better.
Then you sit back down. An hour later — it’s back.
Here’s what’s happening.
Prolonged sitting compresses your hip flexors and reduces the range of motion your hips can access. The longer you sit the more your hips tighten into that position.
When your hips can’t move through their full range your low back compensates. It takes on the mobility work your hips should be doing.
Standing up gives it a temporary break. But the hip restriction is still there. So the moment you sit back down the pattern starts again.
The fix isn’t to sit less — though that helps. It’s to restore the hip mobility that sitting takes away.
That’s what Ray’s sessions are specifically designed to do.
One client described leaving a session feeling “free” — like her body had stopped working against her.
That’s what restored hip mobility actually feels like.
Ray has availability this week including Saturdays and weekday afternoons. Link in bio.
This is the thing that surprises almost every new client.
They come in focused on their back. They’ve been icing it, stretching it, getting it worked on for months. Sometimes years.
And the back feels better for a day or two. Then it comes back.
Because the back isn’t the problem.
Your back is doing extra work because something else stopped working the way it should. Usually the hips.
When hip mobility decreases your low back picks up the load — absorbing force, stabilizing movement, doing jobs it was never designed to do.
Treat the back and you get temporary relief.
Restore the hip mobility and the back finally gets a break.
That’s the difference between chasing pain and actually fixing it.
This is what Ray works on every single day.

Sunday night hits differently when your body hasn’t recovered from the week.
The low back that tightened up Monday is still there.
The hips that felt stiff after Thursday’s workout didn’t fully loosen up. You’re heading into another week already behind.
This is the pattern that Ray works on every single day.
Not just loosening up tight muscles for an hour. Restoring the hip mobility and movement quality that lets your body actually recover between the demands you put on it.
When that changes — when your hips are moving the way they should and your low back stops compensating — Sunday night feels different.
You recover faster. You start the week with more left in the tank.
One of Ray’s clients described it simply:
“I feel very stress relieved after my session.”
That relief is available to you this week.
Ray has availability including Saturdays and weekday afternoons from 12–6.

One of the things Ray’s clients mention consistently is this.
He explains what he’s doing and why.
Not in a clinical way that goes over your head. In a way that makes you understand your own body better when you leave than when you came in.
One client said it this way:
“Ray is great at all aspects of assisted stretch. From explaining the movements and how they help to recommending movements outside the session for continued assistance.”
That last part matters more than people realize.
What you do between sessions determines how fast you progress.
Ray gives his clients specific movements to work on at home — not a generic stretch routine but targeted work based on what he found in your session. So the progress you make on the table continues after you leave.
That’s why his clients describe the relief lasting longer and longer between sessions the more consistently they come in.
It’s not just what happens during the hour.
It’s the whole approach.

Tight shoulders that won’t release no matter how much you stretch them are usually not a flexibility problem.
They’re a nervous system problem.
When your body is under chronic load — long days at a desk, hard training sessions, stress that never fully switches off — your nervous system keeps your muscles in a low grade state of contraction. Ready for the next thing. Braced against it.
You stretch. It releases a little. You go back to your life. It braces right back up.
This is why Ray’s approach works differently than stretching on your own.
When someone else guides the movement and controls the position, your nervous system reads the situation as safe. It stops bracing. The muscle actually releases — not just lengthens temporarily.
His clients describe leaving sessions feeling stress relieved. Relaxed in a way that feels different from just being less sore.
That’s the nervous system letting go.

The first session with Ray most people notice something immediately when they get off the table.
Their hips feel different. Their low back isn’t gripping.
They move out of the clinic feeling looser than they have in months.
But here’s what happens when people come back consistently.
The relief starts lasting longer between sessions.
Week one the good feeling lasts a day or two. Week three it lasts most of the week. A few months in and the restriction that brought them in has mostly stopped coming back.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s the body learning a new pattern.
One of Ray’s clients described it this way:
“Ray is helping me improve my flexibility and relieving the stress in my body. I’m hooked and will be going back. Don’t miss out — it will change your life literally.”
Change your life literally.
For a lot of people that’s exactly what consistent mobility work does. Not because it’s dramatic. Because being able to move without pain changes everything about how you go through your day.
Ray sees clients every other week or weekly depending on what your body needs.
He has availability this week including Saturdays 9-1 and weekday afternoons from 12–6.

Here’s something we hear all the time.
“I stretch every day but nothing changes.”
And it’s true — for a lot of people stretching alone doesn’t move the needle. Not because they’re doing it wrong. Because stretching a muscle that’s protecting a restricted joint is like painting over a crack in the wall.
It looks better for a day. Then the crack comes back.
Ray works differently.
He assesses how your whole body is moving — not just where it’s tight — and works on the restriction that’s causing the muscle to guard in the first place.
When that restriction releases the muscle finally stops fighting you.
One of his clients put it this way:
“My flexibility is so much better. I feel very stress relieved after my session.”
Not just looser. Stress relieved.
Because when your body stops working so hard to compensate — everything relaxes. Not just the muscle.
The whole system.
If you’ve been stretching consistently and not seeing results — this is probably why.

One of our clients described it like this after her first session with Ray.
“When I left I was so relaxed and felt free.”
Free.
That word stuck with me because it’s exactly what’s happening physically.
When your hips have been restricted for months — from sitting, from training on a tight body, from life — your whole lower body is working around the limitation. Your low back is compensating. Your glutes aren’t firing the way they should. Every movement costs more than it should.
When Ray restores that hip mobility the compensation pattern stops.
Your low back isn’t covering for your hips anymore.
Your legs move the way they’re supposed to.
You stand up off the table and something feels different.
Not sore-different. Free-different.
That feeling is what your body is supposed to feel like. It just forgot.
Ray has availability this week including Saturdays 9-1 and weekday afternoons from 12–6.

If you get frequent tension headaches — especially ones that start at the base of your skull or behind your eyes — your jaw might be the reason.
Here’s how it works.
The muscles that control your jaw attach to your skull and run into your neck and upper back. When those muscles are under chronic tension — from clenching, grinding, or jaw misalignment — they pull on everything connected to them.
That pulling creates:
* Tension headaches that feel like a band around your head
* Neck stiffness that never fully resolves
* Jaw pain or clicking that gets worse under stress
* Ear fullness or ringing that seems unrelated
Most people treat the headache. They take ibuprofen. They get a neck massage. It helps temporarily.
But the jaw is still clenching. So the pattern continues.
TMJ disorder is something we treat at Creative Wellness Massage. Lydia works specifically on the jaw and surrounding musculature to release the tension pattern that’s driving the headaches and neck pain.
We also work closely with chiropractic care — the combination of spinal alignment and soft tissue work addresses this from both directions.
Lydia has availability now through the end of May.

Every time you move — walk, squat, run, sit down, stand up — your hips are supposed to absorb and distribute force through your lower body.
When hip mobility decreases, that force has to go somewhere.
It goes to your low back.
Your low back is strong. It handles it for a while. But it was never designed to be a primary shock absorber.
Over time it starts to break down under the load.
That’s when the chronic tightness starts. The aching after workouts. The stiffness that won’t go away no matter how much you stretch.
What you’re watching is Ray restoring hip mobility — not just stretching the muscles around the hip but working the joint through its full range so it can actually do its job again.
When the hip moves the low back finally gets a break.
