Introducing the Machinist Edition Evolution LTX

Before a Ross Reel ever sees the water, it passes through a lot of hands here in Montrose, CO. Engineering, machining, hand work, anodize, assembly, quality control—the people behind every step that turns a piece of raw aluminum into a reel you’ll fish for years.

The Machinist Edition puts a little more of that process on display.

Finished in clear anodize, the LTX leaves the tool paths and machining marks visible instead of covering them with color. It’s a look at how the reel got here, and a nod to the people who make it happen every day.

Underneath, it’s still the Evolution LTX—lightweight, refined, and built to be fished hard. We just left a little more of its story visible for you to see.

Long before Ross Reels was founded in 1973, Colorado’s rivers were shaping anglers, inspiring adventure, and reminding people why wild places matter. For more than four decades, we’ve been fortunate enough to call those same rivers—and this remarkable state—home. 
 
The Colorado 150th Anniversary San Miguel is our tribute to that legacy. 
 
Limited to just 150 individually serialized reels, this special edition celebrates the landscapes, wildlife, waters, and spirit that have defined Colorado for a century and a half. Every detail reflects the place that continues to inspire our work, while every reel is proudly designed, machined, anodized, and assembled in Montrose, Colorado.
