Not every haircut visit ends with a haircut — and that’s okay. 💈

Some days we can get Maddox in the chair, and some days we can’t. This visit, we tried pretty hard to talk him into it, but it just wasn’t his day for a haircut. The important part for me is that it’s never something I want to force.

Honestly, watching him come in more comfortable each time is still a win.

This time, instead of sitting in the chair, Maddox proudly helped with Dad’s haircut — supervising, helping with the product, and being part of everything going on around him. He was smiling, relaxed, curious, and comfortable in the shop, and to me, that matters just as much right now.

The funny thing is… he really didn’t even need a haircut that badly this visit. We just thought, “Maybe today’s the day!” 😄 Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t, and we simply try again next time.

Years ago, I watched kids be pushed through haircuts when they were scared and uncomfortable, and I remember thinking I never wanted to be that kind of barber. I want Deluxe to feel welcoming and safe for everyone — young or old. Sometimes that means celebrating the haircut, and sometimes it means celebrating the small steps that happen before it.

And for now, Maddox being excited to help Dad. We’ll happily take that win. ❤️

I realized I never properly introduced myself, and this little dream of mine deserves a hello from the heart.

My name is Tina — barber of over 20 years, wife to my wonderful husband Mike, and momma to four incredible kids who are the roots behind everything I do.

TimberShores Reserve Company was born after years behind the chair watching what commercial products have done to hair and skin — ingredients filled with fillers, synthetics, and shortcuts that promise everything but truly nourish very little. I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I knew there had to be a cleaner, better, more honest way.

I’m a maker at heart and a grower by passion. Many of the ingredients I work with are grown by my own hands in my garden, Rolling Hills Haven — a space that holds my peace, my purpose, and the beginning of this entire journey. And whenever I can’t grow it myself, I intentionally source from people I know, trust, and deeply want to support — local farmers, makers, and families whose values align with mine. Knowing exactly where my ingredients come from matters more to me than convenience ever could.

Working with herbs and flowers from my own garden Rolling Hills Haven, opened my eyes in a way I never expected. I had never truly experienced what properly preserved, homegrown plants could do — the depth, the freshness, the life they hold compared to anything you’ll find dried on a store shelf. Cooking with them completely changed how I understood real ingredients and what they bring to everyday living. I lovingly dry and preserve them at their peak not only to infuse into the oils and products I create for TimberShores, but also to use in my own kitchen for nourishing, home-cooked meals for my family. It isn’t just about growing things… it’s about honoring them and carrying their goodness forward in every possible way. That same intention and respect for nature flows into everything I create here.

This brand is about more than grooming. It’s about crafting with intention, honoring nature, choosing real ingredients, supporting real people, and creating products that truly serve the skin, hair, and everyday living. What begins here in small, thoughtful batches is only the foundation — TimberShores Reserve Company is a lifestyle rooted in purity, craftsmanship, and goods made to nourish both body and home.

Mike has stood beside every late night, every experiment, every idea, and every leap of faith — always believing in this vision and encouraging me forward. That support means more than I could ever put into words.

This dream has taken years of patience, trial and error, growth, faith, and heart — and it’s only just beginning.

It’s designed for a full simmer pot and can be enjoyed over multiple simmers. Simply add water and reheat again to enjoy the aroma over multiple days.
