🌿 BO’S TRACTOR WORKS C*D CREAMS ARE BACK IN STOCK! 🌿
If you’ve been asking about the little jars of goodness we keep on the shelf at Bluegrass Bodyworks… YES, we have them! 😍
We carry a few different options from Bo’s Tractor Works, a Kentucky company that grows their own h**p and makes their products right here in Kentucky. Everything is made with natural ingredients, by hand, in small batches.
Here’s the quick breakdown:
💪 APPALACHIAN HILLS XI
The tried-and-true powerhouse. This is Bo’s stronger formula and is designed for non-sensitive areas where you’re dealing with those stubborn aches and pains. It contains ingredients like menthol, turmeric, ginger, cayenne, C*D and CBG. A little goes a long way!
🌿 APPALACHIAN PLAINS
Similar ingredients to the Hills XI, but made with olive oil instead of coconut oil. The difference? It absorbs faster and is designed to pe*****te more deeply. This has quickly become a favorite for people looking for something they can work into those deeper, stubborn areas.
✨ APPALACHIAN SILK
This one is the softer, skincare-focused option. It’s made with h**p seed oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, h**p seed butter, shea butter, C*D, CBG, vitamin E and other botanical ingredients. It’s especially nice for sensitive areas and is marketed by Bo’s for skincare, acne and minor skin irritation.
And one thing I REALLY appreciate about Bo’s products: they grow, process and make their products themselves. There’s something pretty cool about knowing where the h**p comes from and that the finished product never gets shipped off somewhere else to be made. 🌱
We’ve had some great feedback from our clients who use these at home between appointments — and personally, I love having a topical option available for those days when your body is asking for a little extra attention.
Stop by Bluegrass Bodyworks and grab one while we have them in stock! 💚
**Topical products are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions. Individual experiences vary.
Interesting, I’ll have to give some of these a look!

💆♀️ A little reminder about cancellation fees… and why they exist.
We know life happens. Kids get sick, work runs late, emergencies pop up, and sometimes you simply forget. We truly understand — because we’re human, too. ❤️
But here’s the part that can be easy to forget:
Massage therapists, hairstylists, estheticians, nail techs, and other service providers don’t work on a salary.
When you book an appointment with us, that time is reserved specifically for you. If you cancel at the last minute or don’t show up, we usually don’t have enough time to fill that appointment with someone else.
Which means… we don’t get paid for that hour.
Our cancellation fee isn’t about being punitive or making money off of someone having a bad day. It’s about protecting the time we’ve set aside to work and earn our income.
And believe me, we understand that sometimes circumstances are completely out of your control. ❤️ We try to use compassion and common sense when those situations arise. But having a policy allows us to be fair and consistent while also protecting our small business and our therapists’ time.
And speaking of unexpected free time… 😂
This morning, I had a last-minute opening. Instead of being irritated about it, I decided to take advantage of the hour and work on myself for once!
I grabbed my yoga ball, worked out some trigger points, did some stretching, and basically gave myself the kind of bodywork I spend all day telling everyone else they need. 😂
And you know what?
My body feels SO much better!
So yes, sometimes life happens. Sometimes appointments get cancelled. And sometimes your massage therapist gets a surprise hour to discover that apparently she needed the massage, too. 😂
We appreciate your understanding, your communication, and most importantly, your respect for the time we reserve for you. It truly means a lot to small service-based businesses like ours. ❤️
Please communicate with us as soon as you know you can’t make your appointment. The more notice we have, the more likely we are to fill that time and avoid charging a cancellation fee.
There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who understand how expensive paper towels are and use an appropriate amount and those who act like bored, adult sized toddlers, when moms on the phone.
😂😂😂😂

“But that’s not where it hurts!” 👀
Ever had your massage therapist work on your shoulder when your pain was actually in your arm? Or work on your glutes when your low back was screaming?
There’s a reason for that. 👇
🔹 Trigger Points & Referred Pain
A trigger point is a hypersensitive area within a muscle that can produce pain locally or refer pain to another area of the body.
That means the spot that hurts isn’t always the spot that’s causing the problem.
For example, certain muscles in the neck and shoulder can refer pain into the head, face, or arm. Muscles around the hip and glutes can contribute to pain that is felt in the low back or down the leg.
So when your massage therapist says,
“I’m going to work here because I think it’s contributing to your pain over there,”
they aren’t just guessing. They’re considering the relationship between muscles, joints, nerves, movement patterns, and referred pain.
This is also why we may spend part of your session working away from your primary pain area.
🎯 The goal isn’t simply to chase the pain.
The goal is to understand why it’s there and address the contributing tissues and movement patterns that may be keeping it around.
So if your therapist starts working somewhere that makes you think, “Umm…that’s definitely not where it hurts…” 😅
Trust the process—and ask us why!
We’re always happy to explain what we’re working on and how it may connect to what you’re feeling.
Your body is connected. Your treatment should be, too.

🎨🍴 ARTS & EATS IS COMING TO MAIN STREET! 🍴🎨
Morehead’s Arts & Eats Festival is happening this Saturday, September 19th, right here on Main Street! We love seeing our community come alive with local art, food, music, and fun. 💚
BUT… a little heads up for our Bluegrass Bodyworks clients:
🚧 Main Street will have road closures for the festival, so you won’t be able to park directly in front of the office.
If you have an appointment with us, please plan to park on/around Second Street and walk in to the office. 👟
We apologize for the inconvenience! We know it adds a few extra steps (literally 😂), but we will still be OPEN and taking appointments!
If you’re willing to make the trek, we’ll have the massage table waiting for you. 😉
Come enjoy the festival, grab some food, check out the local artists—and then come see us for some much-needed bodywork!
