Here are 5 things you didn't know about skin care:

1. Acne isn't caused by dirty skin. It's actually a result of things like excess oil, certain bacterias, and clogged pores.

2. There is a yeast that usually does't impact our skin, but too much of it is what causes dandruff - so if you have dandruff, you might want to look into this!

3. Dry skin is not prevented or treated by drinking water. Dry skin is a result of damage to your skin's barrier which stops it from retaining water (hence the misconception).

4. Sun damage can happen even when you are indoors because UVA rays are not stopped by windows. This means you should always wear your sunscreen - always!

5. Blackheads are not black because of dirt. The dark color is a result of oxidation.
