“It’s a Girl: The Three Deadliest Words in the World”
Presented by Dr. Christina Fattore, WVU Council for Women’s Concerns Member and Assistant Professor in the WVU Department of Political Science

The WVU Council for Women’s Concern Will Show Film on Human Trafficking and Female Infanticide

The film, directed by Evan Grae Davis, explores the tragic practice of female infanticide, sex-selection abortions, in India and China. Those who survive infancy are often subject to neglect, and many grow up to face extreme violence and even death at the hands of their own husbands or other family members. The film discusses these issues and asks why this is happening, and why so little is being done to save girls and women. The film will be presented by Dr. Christina Fattore, WVU Council for Women’s Concerns Member and Assistant Professor in the WVU Department of Political Science

The Research Office is accepting submissions for the 2014 Student Innovator Award, which recognizes a current undergraduate or graduate student, or a team of students, who have been innovative and/or entrepreneurial during their WVU career. The award recipient will receive $5,000.
