Last Saturday, we closed Sage & Soul—not for a day off, but for a day dedicated to learning, connection and community. 🌿

If you’ve ever sat in our chairs, you’ve probably heard us talk about our Sunday farm visits. Supporting farmers, sustainability and understanding where our food and ingredients come from have always mattered deeply to our family-owned salon.

Inspired by our connection with Davines North America and Davines, we brought our team and a small group of clients to Rodale Institute to experience regenerative agriculture firsthand.

We toured the research fields, learned how healthy soil supports an entire living ecosystem, shared a farm-to-table meal, created fall flowers and ended the day together by the fire.

This experience is inspiring us to become even more intentional about the coffee, fruit, spa water and little rituals we share with you at Sage & Soul.

Something new is growing—and this Saturday experience was only the beginning. More community experiences are coming. 🤍

Why Rodale? 🌿 Rodale Institute

My connection to Rodale Institute began through Davines-the professional color and haircare brand we have believed in at Sage & Soul for many years.

Davines creates its products in Parma, Italy, combining science with beautiful ingredients grown by Italian farmers. Its Essential Haircare collection helps support traditional farms and protect crops and biodiversity at risk of disappearing.

Tomatoes, melons, olives, lentils, capers and other ingredients grown from the earth become part of the products we use at Sage & Soul. Even our Mask with Vibrachrom professional color contains quinoa protein extract to help the hair absorb and retain beautiful color.

This commitment is why Davines partnered with Rodale Institute to create a regenerative organic research and education center beside Davines Village in Parma.

Their mission is not simply to sustain the soil—it is to REGENERATE THE SOIL, restore its health, protect biodiversity and educate the farmers who are helping secure the future of our food and beauty ingredients.

After discovering Rodale through Davines, hearing its leaders speak in New York and meeting inspiring farmers and food entrepreneurs at the Good Farmer Award, I knew I wanted to share this experience with my clients and community.

Because beauty does not begin in a bottle. It begins with healthy soil, seeds, farmers and the ingredients that nourish us.

This Saturday, I’m bringing a small group to Rodale Institute to learn together, tour the farm, enjoy a farm-to-table lunch, create with fall flowers and experience where beauty truly begins.

And this is only the beginning. I hope our next experience will be closer to home at Ethos Farm in Long Valley, New Jersey. I encourage everyone to visit and support local farmers—bring your market bags and bring fresh, nourishing food home to your family.

You may already know Jaden, but there’s a lot happening behind the chair.

A graduate of Artistic Academy, Jaden continued his education in Los Angeles before returning to Sage & Soul, where he has continued developing his craft through hands-on training alongside Jacqueline.

His attention to detail, curiosity, and commitment to education are shaping the artist he is becoming. Today, he’s building a growing clientele while also taking on a stronger role within the Sage & Soul team.

And this is only the beginning.

Since opening our doors, we’ve believed in quality over quantity, healthy hair, thoughtful choices, community and beauty with purpose.

Through Green Circle Salons, Green Circle Salons we recover and repurpose up to 95% of our salon beauty waste — including hair clippings, foils and color tubes, excess color, plastics and many of the single-use items created behind the chair. Even leftover color can be responsibly recovered and converted into energy.

Our love for conscious beauty is also one of the reasons Davines Davines North America Davines has been part of our story from the very beginning. Every appointment begins with brow mapping, studying your natural growth, proportions and facial features to create balance while keeping your brows beautifully you.

Her signature approach is meticulous: precision tweezing, hair by hair, professional brow color customized to your natural coloring, and lamination when needed to redirect unruly hairs and create a fuller, polished shape.
