Client Prep: How to Get Your Skin Ready for Electrolysis

A little preparation goes a long way in making treatments more comfortable and effective. Here’s how clients can set themselves up for the best results

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Well-hydrated skin allows for smoother insertions and can make treatments more comfortable.

Avoid caffeine before your appointment. Caffeine can increase sensitivity and make treatments feel more intense.

Skip sun exposure. Sunburned or recently tanned skin is more sensitive and may not be safe to treat.

Let the hair grow in. Hair needs to be visible and long enough for proper treatment. No tweezing or waxing before your visit, and leave a few days without shaving.

Keep skin clean and product-free. Arrive with clean skin and avoid heavy lotions, oils, or makeup in the treatment area.

Avoid retinols and active skincare (24–48 hrs prior). These can make the skin more sensitive and prone to irritation.
