Exciting News! 🌿💛🌿
I met a beautiful woman this Summer & she has a wonderful herb 🌿 school in San Diego county & we share a mutual love for the plants 🌱 which lead to a mutual language of care, regard, respect & desire to collaborate here on the beautiful Central Coast of California this June to share and study the plants through botanical lens. Shana brings a detailed eye, she calls it botanicals eyes to fully see the plants 🌱 where they grow, who they grow next to, what pollinators are present & playing a role in the ecology & a deep reverence for the natural world. I invited Shana & her husband to offer something here to my beloved Central Coast community and she enthusiastic said yes! 🙌
We will be camping for 2 nights & 3 days @ Morro Bay campground medicine making, communing, making wild foods, learning botany & sharing valuable time together accessing ancient knowledge & wisdom.

Month 6 Way of the Herbalist 🌿🌸
We journeyed out to the open wild spaces meeting new friends like chickweed, cleavers, hummingbird sage, usnea, sour grass, and Ceanothus. From the Ceanothus blossoms we made soap, from the chickweed we made pesto, from the nettles we made soup & nettle salt, we feasted on mallow quinoa cakes, and homemade lemonade with lemons 🍋 from the orchard and sour grass. We made toothbrushes with red willow and learned to regard poison oak as sacred, a reminder to enter into the wild spaces with reverence and awareness knowing our place on the trail. To commune and eat a little bit if the wild everyday something miraculous begins to happen. We awaken an ancient wisdom that our cells remember and they begin to pulse and dance with pure delight 🌱⭐️ what a special group of plant loving people, you all make the world a better place. I love sharing and being in these moments with you 🙏🍃🌸

A couple of things I want to remember

🍃🌸Way of the Herbalist 2022-23 has come to completion. We have journeyed together over the last 10 months mutually sharing a deep love for Mother Nature & the magical plant 🌱world. We rode the wave of Autumn, Winter & into Spring with all the Beauty, challenges, obstacles, growth, insights, joy, sorrows & together we remember. We remember we are nature & we reserve ourselves back into the the great wen of life. Herbalism is a home coming & everyone’s birthright. Together we built community, sang songs, made magic potions, cried our tears, shared laughter, she’d the old skin, learned how each season brings medicine, learned about many plants, awakened to the wisdom of the wild weeds that are ancient & resilient & in return we learned of our own resilience, how much magic & medicine grows at our very feet & to unearth our own medicine that lives within. Every woman has her own magical unique way of being an herbalist. Every woman has her own inherent gifts & Medicine. May we contribute to remember with each passing day we have our divine senses to guide us, inform us, and in return may we share our love of the natural world with others. Herbalists are heart centered people that live a life stewarding, teaching, educating, loving and tending the land they live upon. It is the people’s medicine and belongs to everyone. Thank you for everyone that was part of this journey and may our time together triple out into the world and be if the greatest love, light & service.

🍃Wild Beauty Herbal Gathering was a very sweet, magical, loving, healing & nourishing time on beautiful land that held us so well. All the amazing women who took the time out of their daily lives to spend 5 days together in Southern Oregon on the Illinois River singing, medicine making, laughing, praying, shedding tears and old outdated beliefs of oneself was a tome to remember for all the rest of my years. I give thanks to the land, the sacred healing waters, the big trees offering us much needed shade and shelter from the very warm summer sun, the incredible women that showed up powerfully, beautifully & authentically. May our time together heal the heart stations behind us and the generations after us. May we all digest and integrate our rich journey and continue to evolve into our highest selves. When women heal society heals. Sending love & safe travels home to all that made the trek and I hope to do it again and again and again 🍃🙏💛

What a stellar group of incredible women so filled with love, generosity, laughter, wisdom, heart, openness, willingness, vulnerability & incredible beauty inside & out🍃🌸Each group that comes in is cosmically designed to journey together and helps to inform, deepen & evolve Way of the Herbalist🌿 into a greater and more refined expression of itself. To share the plant path with other women is a lifelong forever bond that is incredibly special. Together we reweave ourselves back into the Great Mysterious & intelligent web of life & cyclical loving. And, it’s never an ‘ending’ in itself as it is really just the beginning. The beginning of a lifelong love affair with the wildness of life, great mystery of plants 🌱 and how they choose us and work their magic into our hearts, homes, kitchens, families, community and the ripples of love that reverberate out into the world is the most magical medicine that comes from this alchemized time together. What a day 💛🍃🙏
We had our last class of Way of the Herbalist for 2021-22 & what a day to remember 🌸🍃 We gathered on gorgeous land with the sweetest family, we were taught by an incredible artist & fellow sister .and.oak sharing her gifts with us of natural plant 🌱 🌸dyeing, made flower essences & plant meditations, played in the sprinkling 💦 of a hose like young children on a warm Summers 🌞 day, loved, laughed, supported & deepened into a forever sister herbal bond. We come to herbalism to study the plants only to find we study ourselves & create a tribe of Women that support the awakening of the Medicine with in us. In our circle we don’t compete, there in no lack or scarcity, we do not need to worry about being out shined, we don’t need to gossip or be in fear we don’t belong. Every woman just like the plants is so uniquely beautiful in her tastes, textures, sounds, songs, curves, life stories, and her unique medicine that she is specifically born with. I love you all & am forever touched & grateful for all the moments we have shared together 🙏💛🍃 forever imprinted upon the heart & soul🍃

Today we entered into month 7 of Way of the Herbalist 🌿 and these Earth Angels led the plant walk 🌱 They each journeyed with a plant for one month that grows here in our ecosystem and shared her medicine with us. The women did such an amazing job leading us to touch, taste, smell, listen and enter into slow time. A time of rest, no agenda, love, and greeting a plant 🌱 friend like kin. It is important in Way of the Herbalist we sense a plant, we approach her slowly, mindfully, asking permission & treating her with great respect, reverence and appreciation. Our local wild plants are our local healers that have been here since prehistoric times and are the survivalists plants. They teach us about resiliency, nourishment, tenacity, community, abundance, and remind us of our own Wild Beauty, our own belonging. These ladies get it, they really understand its about relationships and how much the plants 🌱 are here for us and the importance of us being here for them. With love & gratitude I am so grateful for all my exquisite teachers that have come before me and taught me the Wise Ways of Mother Nature, building community, being a woman and the power of love.
