As Earth Wind and Fire are literally playing in the background (My Daddy’s Birthday Twin), I’m trying to further process how devastating it is to accept that you have transitioned 🥲 You, like my Father taught me so much TJ 🙏🏽 I am FOREVER INDEBTED to you for your intentional training that you covered me with! I call myself “Mrs. Silky” because of your Mentorship! You were ALWAYS hands on and very thorough and direct when it came to your instructions! Due to the similarities of my Father, we often had a push and pull relationship as I was stubborn & you cared less lol! I miss you Emperor 🥲 My heart aches for your beautiful Queen Anna and your beautiful children! I’m praying for God’s peace that surpasses all understanding to cover your family and all who are affected by your loss! The PURITY in this beautiful picture symbolizes how Pure your soul was Emperor! Your smile would always light up any room! You were definitely a man’s man in this industry and a rare breed! Very unorthodox you were, always walking to beat of your own drum, footloose and fancy free….But now you’re truly free 🙏🏽🖤🙌🏽 I find solace in knowing that ONLY A SOUL LIKE YOURS WOULD BE CALLED HOME ON JUNETEENTH 💪🏽💯‼️ My spirit tells me that you wouldn’t have had it any other way! P.S. It all started at Caris Salon Service on Sylvan Rd! My twin was managing that location! I was looking to assist and as he was making a purchase, I was confident enough to make my pitch informing him that I was the assistant that he needed! After letting me rant lol he graciously and calmly looked at me and told me that I could stop selling myself and show up for work that weekend…..the rest was history! I love you IMMENSELY 🙏🏽♥️😘😇

My name is Lakeisha Marie Leslie! I am a Master Cosmetologist and my Brand is The Kei Experience! The “Kei Experience” was developed from the extensive training that started with my beautiful Sister training me as her assistant in this industry! She was very thorough and intentional about the foundation of hair that starts “at the shampoo bowl”! I remember vividly her telling me that “it’s an experience” and the client should aways know and feel that energy! Needless to say that her training left a major IMPRESSION on me and has help propel me into my own career as a Professional Cosmetologist! It’s funny how in life you can think you’re just working, hustling or existing through a period of your life until RETROSPECT shows you that you were getting PREPARED for something far greater than you could imagine! I started out managing salons and then afterwards working for a Black Salon Service! It was at that point that I was bitten by the entrepreneur bug! I’m thankful to be a current Entrepreneur who has been navigating my brand for 10 years now! I’m such a positive sponge who loves to learn and grow from the right spirits! I will always be a student no matter where God takes me on this journey of life!
