I found this blog to be one of the best ways to describe the difference between Spa and Private Practice Massage Therapy.
So often, I wind up turning "new" clients away and not being able to accommodate them. And it's not because I don't want them. It's due to very inconvenient timing... practically always. And I say that with absolute kindness and honesty. I'm unsure that maybe folks are just a little unaware of the scheduling procedure differences between Spa/Wellness center availability and those who run a private practice. I am happy to share and educate, though.

One key fact you SHOULD know. And I will always speak out for the people who are trying to make it in the service providing world :
If your service provider doesn't rent their own space and is being paid by the business....
Then they are likely getting paid a commission rate of about 50% ... maybe a little more sometimes. But they will be taxed NO DIFFERENTLY than someone who rented their own space and claims 100% of the business expenses. So when they willingly take on day-of appointments and hang out for people to show up hours of their day, it is because they are on the hustle and grind, my friends.
If a wellness center charges $70 for an hour, your therapist makes $35 and has to crank out multiple clients to make that bank.
