And yes, I KNOW. I live in Morton. Pumpkin Capital of the World. 🎃 I’m supposed to LIVE for this weekend.

It really is an adorable festival, and I fully support everyone having their pumpkin-loving moment. But crowds? Ehhhh. I work one-on-one in a dark, quiet room all day, and frankly that is also how I prefer the rest of the world. 😂

That said… MAYBE this is the year I actually explore Pumpkin Fest as an adult? Grab a drink. Eat something pumpkin-y. Wander around. See where the night takes me.

So, Morton people — what does a child-free adult actually DO at Pumpkin Fest?! 😂

Give me your recommendations. Drinks? Food? Music? Something I absolutely shouldn’t miss?

I recently had a cleaning experience that wasn’t quite what I expected. And while I could make this post about what was missed, it actually made me realize something bigger:

I care a LOT about alignment.

In my own business, I’m big on quality, communication, accountability, and doing what you say you’re going to do. If I miss the mark, I own it and make it right. Not because someone forces me to — but because I care.

And I want to work with people who feel the same way. 🫶

So, I’m looking for an independent cleaner or small cleaning business who takes genuine pride in their work, notices the little things, communicates honestly, is dependable, and would ideally be the same person consistently caring for my business space.

I’m not looking for the cheapest person.

I’m looking for the right person.

Tell me what it actually takes to do the job well. Tell me what it costs. Set expectations with me. I will happily pay someone fairly for great work — I just want honesty, consistency, and someone who cares about the end result as much as I do.

Basically, I want someone who walks out of my space and thinks:

“Yep. THAT has my name on it.” 👏

Because that’s how I feel about my own work.

And listen… if you’re reading this thinking, “Girl, you sound like a lot.” 😂😂😂

Fair.

We probably aren’t each other’s people. 🤣❤️

I’m learning that not everyone has to be our person — in business or in life. There’s a lot of freedom in knowing what you value, communicating it kindly, and choosing people who align with it.

High standards. Big heart. Clear communication. Lots of grace. And accountability when it matters.

That’s what I bring to the table, and that’s what I’m looking for in return. ❤️

One of my favorite things about getting to celebrate you is that my boys get to be part of it, too. 🥰

They get to help pick out flowers, and they get SUPER excited about it. But more than that, it gives me an opportunity to teach them something important: when we’re celebrating someone, we think about that person—what would make them feel special, seen, and loved. 💐

I get to teach my boys to be kind. To be intentional. To support the people who support us. 💕

So when we pick out fresh flowers, or I have a friend make a custom treat for you, it might seem like a little thing—but to me, it’s also a moment where I’m teaching my boys how we treat people.

And I think that’s beautiful.

But the best part?

Seeing your face when you realize that you aren’t just an appointment on my schedule. You aren’t just someone walking through the door and spending money.

I see you. I thought about you before you ever walked in. I wanted your time with me to feel intentional.

I believe we need more of that in this world—more people intentionally loving and celebrating the people around them.

I can’t control how the world makes you feel outside of my space. But inside my space? I can make the choice to make sure you feel seen, appreciated, and loved the way you deserve to be.

You choose me, and I choose you.

And I think that’s pretty beautiful. ❤️

So I get to end this week having celebrated TWO birthdays and a retirement, and my heart is so full.

What an honor it is to celebrate you. 💐✨

Whew! Ending yesterday with a Wellness Escape Body Treatment and beginning today with a four-hour spa day is definitely labor-intensive for my own body, but damn… I’m grateful. 🥹🤍

Today, I got to celebrate a longtime client and friend who is officially RETIRING!! 🎉 I am so unbelievably happy for her and all that lies ahead in this next chapter. And I was absolutely HONORED that this is how she chose to celebrate such a special milestone. 🥰

And my sweet friend Lisa from showed up for me and helped make the celebration extra special. 🤍

Now I’m taking advantage of this little 15-minute break to rest on the warm treatment table before an afternoon of body waxing. 😅

What a day. What a life. What a privilege it is to do this work.

If you know me well, you know I don’t believe in chance. And for somebody who has been through a lot of unfortunate things, I still carry the belief that things happen for a reason. I don’t have to like the reason, or even understand it, but I believe the world is working for my greater good.

Things may feel like they’re falling apart, but in the bigger picture… I trust they’re falling into place. And that belief gives me immense peace when life feels chaotic.

There’s something I tend to notice when I’m working with whatever life has given me—trying to find the good in it. Often, when I’m leaving work and thinking about the future, there’s a grasshopper. One will be sitting on my work door or on the driver’s side window of my truck.

For me, it’s become a beautiful little reminder that things are working in my favor. Grasshoppers are often considered a sign of good luck, abundance, and a push to move forward in life.

How appropriate.

Maybe that’s part of why this little reminder means so much to me. My work asks me to hold space for people in some of their most vulnerable moments—to offer a place where they can soften, exhale, and let their nervous system settle for a while. There’s a vulnerability in that for both of us, and I don’t take that trust lightly.

I spend so much of my days offering other humans a place to remember that it’s safe to soften, even when life around them feels anything but soft. Maybe these little grasshoppers are life’s way of offering me the same reminder.

Tonight, when my son came over to check the laundry with me, he was the one who pointed out the grasshopper as we went to leave.

I hope that no matter what happens in my life, I never lose the belief that good things are coming—to me and to the people around me. And I hope I never lose that childlike sense of wonder and curiosity that lets something as simple as a grasshopper feel like a positive little reminder from the universe.

Yesterday, a client surprised me with the sweetest gift from Tradecraft Bakeshop. 🥰 And the fact that she thought of my boys too? That got me. 🤍

I really do attract the most beautiful souls. The kind of people who notice, remember, and love on not just me, but the people I love most.

Feeling very loved. Very grateful. And very aware of how special this little community of mine is. 🫶

While I was cleaning, I came across these little affirmation hearts. They were some of the very first items I carried when I opened my shop. I tucked one set away for home years ago and honestly forgot about them.

Elijah and I decided to each pull one.

His said: I Am Brave. 💙

Then somehow… two came out together for me.

Elijah looked at me with the biggest smile and said,

“Those are the most perfect ones for you. They sound just like you.” 🥹

There’s something special about hearing someone you love speak truth over you.
