POV: You became a massage therapist because you wanted to help people feel better...
Now you're also a videographer, editor, writer, marketer, graphic designer, and social media manager. 😂
I still love every minute I spend helping people move better and hurt less. But if you've ever wondered why your favorite small businesses are always making videos... this is why. 😅

Most people try to stretch tight shoulders.
Sometimes that helps...
But many times those muscles are tight because they're working overtime—not because they need more stretching.
Your upper traps often compensate when the muscles that stabilize your shoulder blades aren't doing their job.
That's why simply rubbing the sore spot doesn't always create lasting relief.
Today's exercise helps wake up those stabilizing muscles so your shoulders can finally relax.
Pain isn't always where the problem starts.
That's the philosophy behind everything we do at Knot Release Therapies.
Have stubborn shoulder tension?
Comment SHOULDERS and I'll send you another simple movement you can try.
🚨 STOP stretching your chest for a second...
If your upper back always feels stiff, the problem may not be that your chest is "too tight."
More often, your upper back has forgotten how to move after hours of sitting, driving, or looking at a screen.
That's why these 3 simple exercises focus on:
✔️ Restoring upper back mobility
✔️ Retraining your shoulder blades
✔️ Helping your nervous system relearn healthy movement
The best part? You can do all of them at work in just a few minutes.
💾 Save this post so you can use it the next time your neck or upper back starts feeling stiff.
👇 Now I want to hear from you:
Where do you carry the most tension?
• Neck
• Between your shoulder blades
• Shoulders
• Low back
Comment with your answer—I read every one.

"I don't know if sitting is the new smoking... but I know your body wasn't designed to stay in one position all day."
Your body is built for movement.
When you spend hours sitting at a desk, driving, or scrolling, your muscles begin to adapt. Some become tight. Others become weak. Over time, those changes can contribute to neck pain, shoulder tension, headaches, hip stiffness, and low back discomfort.
The good news? Your body is incredibly adaptable.
Even standing up, taking a short walk, or changing positions throughout the day can help reduce the stress prolonged sitting places on your body.
And if you've been stretching, exercising, or getting massages but the pain keeps coming back, it may be because you're treating the symptom instead of the pattern.
At Knot Release Therapies, we focus on finding the why behind your pain so you can move better—not just feel better for a day.
💬 How many hours do you think you spend sitting each day? Tell me in the comments!

✨ If only it were magic... 😄
I hear this all the time: "You have magic hands!"
The truth is, it's not magic.
It's years of studying the body, understanding how muscles and fascia work together, and finding the real source of your pain—not just where it hurts.
When we release the right muscles and help your body move the way it was designed to, amazing things can happen.
So I'll happily accept the compliment... but the real magic is what your body is capable of when it's given the right treatment. 💜

Try This If Your Neck Feels Tight
Before reaching for pain medication, try this simple stretch:
• Sit tall with relaxed shoulders.
• Slowly tilt one ear toward your shoulder.
• Hold for 20–30 seconds without forcing the movement.
• Repeat on the other side.
If your neck tension keeps returning, the neck may not be the real source of the problem. Tight muscles in the chest, shoulders, hips, or upper back can all contribute to ongoing discomfort.
That's where a personalized assessment can make all the difference.
If you're ready to stop chasing symptoms and start addressing the underlying cause, we'd love to help.
📅 Book your appointment today and let's help you move better, feel better, and enjoy your summer.

What Changed in Just One Session?
Watch this posture comparison.
The photo on the left was taken before treatment.
The photo on the right was taken after targeted therapeutic work.
Notice how the shoulders sit differently, the head is more balanced, and the body appears more relaxed.
Pain doesn't always start where you feel it. Sometimes your body has been compensating for weeks—or even years. That's why we begin by looking at movement patterns instead of chasing symptoms.
Every person is different, but seeing changes in posture and movement can be an encouraging sign that the body is responding to treatment.
Have you ever noticed yourself standing unevenly or carrying one shoulder higher than the other?

Massage Isn't Just About Relaxation
Many people think massage is simply a way to unwind. While relaxation is certainly a benefit, therapeutic massage can do much more.
When muscles become tight or overworked, they can restrict movement and contribute to discomfort. Hands-on therapy can help reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, increase range of motion, and support recovery from physical stress. Massage has also been shown to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping your body shift out of "fight or flight" mode and into a state that supports healing.
At Knot Release Therapies, we focus on finding the underlying patterns contributing to pain—not just treating where it hurts.
If you've been living with persistent aches, headaches, neck tension, or back pain, your body may be telling a bigger story.

✨ My favorite tools in the treatment room... and no, they're not just gadgets.
Every client is different, so I choose the tools that best match what's happening in your body.
My go-to favorites include:
🙌 My hands – because nothing replaces skilled assessment and treatment.
🔹 Muscle scraping – to help address fascial restrictions and improve tissue mobility.
⚡ Adaptive microcurrent – a gentle therapy that may help support the body's natural healing processes.
💥 10,000 RPM vibration therapy – to help relax tight muscles and prepare tissue for treatment.
🫧 Cupping – to decompress tissue and improve movement in restricted areas.
The secret isn't using every tool—it's knowing when to use the right one.
That's why every session at Knot Release Therapies is customized to your body and your goals.
Which of these have you tried? Let me know in the comments! 👇

✨ New Service at Knot Release Therapies: Muscle Scraping (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)
Have you ever felt like a muscle just won't let go—no matter how much you stretch or massage it?
Muscle scraping is a specialized technique that uses smooth, stainless steel instruments to gently glide over the muscles and fascia. This can help:
✔️ Break up fascial restrictions and scar tissue
✔️ Improve mobility and range of motion
✔️ Reduce muscle tension
✔️ Increase blood flow to the area
✔️ Support recovery from overuse and old injuries
✔️ Complement therapeutic and medical massage treatments
Despite the name, nothing is actually being "scraped" off the skin. The instruments are designed to help your therapist detect and treat areas of tissue restriction with precision.
This treatment is a great option for athletes, desk workers, active adults, or anyone dealing with stubborn muscle tightness that hasn't responded to stretching alone.
We're excited to offer muscle scraping as one more tool to help you move better, recover faster, and get to the root of your pain.
