Toby and I are heading to check out the possible damage if any to the shop. Riverside Dr flooded last night when the Ararat River crested at 28.8 ft. Here’s a picture he sent me of the river and building from last night. I’ll keep everyone updated.

✨ Hair “Myths” That Are Actually True ✨
✨ Let’s Break Them Down! ✨
You’ve probably heard these hair sayings for years… but guess what? All of them are totally true. Here’s what they REALLY mean and why they matter for keeping your hair healthy and gorgeous! 💁🏼♀️💕
👇 Let’s dive into each one:
1️⃣ “Washing your hair every day can cause more oil.”
When you overwash, your scalp thinks it’s dry and starts producing extra oil to compensate. Washing less often can actually balance your natural oils.
2️⃣”Your diet DOES affect your hair.”
Healthy hair starts inside! Protein, vitamins, water, and minerals all play a huge role. Poor nutrition shows up in your hair just like it does in your skin.
3️⃣”Extensions don’t have to damage your hair if applied and cared for properly.”
High quality extensions + a knowledgeable stylist + correct home care = beautiful hair with no breakage. It’s all about technique and maintenance!
4️⃣”Your hair type can change over time.”
Hormones, age, stress, medications, and pregnancy can make your hair become curlier, straighter, thinner, or thicker. It’s completely normal!
5️⃣”Towel drying with rough towels can cause frizz and breakage.”
Traditional towels tug on the cuticle. A microfiber towel or an old cotton T-shirt is much gentler and keeps your hair smoother.
6️⃣”Heat protectant is NOT optional… it’s essential.”
Every time you use heat — blow dryers, curlers, straighteners — you risk damaging your hair. A good heat protectant creates a barrier and keeps your hair healthy.
7️⃣”Stress really can make your hair fall out.”
Stress can disrupt your hair’s growth cycle and lead to shedding. Taking care of your mental health really is part of taking care of your hair.
8️⃣”Split ends don’t stop at the tip — they travel up.”
Once the hair splits, it keeps tearing higher and higher. This leads to frizz, breakage, and uneven ends. Regular trims are key!
9️⃣”Scalp care is just as important as skin care.”
Your scalp is skin too! Build-up, dryness, clogged follicles, and irritation can all affect hair growth. Healthy scalp = healthy hair.
🔟”Hair grows from the root, not the ends.”
You can’t ‘speed up’ growth from the ends. But trimming prevents split ends from traveling up and making your hair weaker — which helps it look and stay longer.
