Stretch spotlight: The Prayer Stretch 🙏
Type all day, scroll on your phone, grip your steering wheel, lift, push, or pull - and suddenly your forearms feel like they belong to a rock climber. That tightness in your wrists and forearms is super common, and this little stretch only takes a minute to fix it.
How to do it:
• Press your palms together in front of your chest, fingers pointing up (like a prayer position)
• Slowly lower your hands toward your waist, keeping your elbows out to the sides
• You should feel a stretch through your forearms and wrists - if it’s too intense, just go as low as is comfortable
• Hold for 20–30 seconds, breathe into the stretch, taking deep breaths
• Slowly rotate your hands downward, pulling your wrists back up towards your chest
• Hold the stretch for another 20-30 seconds – Keep breathing!
• Rotate back to the starting position, and repeat 2–3 times
If your wrists are really tight and you can’t get your palms fully together, start with just your fingertips touching and work your way down. No judgment. 😄
Do this at your desk, while watching tv, or before bed. Your wrists will thank you.

Never had a massage with us before (or ever)? No worries - here’s the lowdown so you can walk in relaxed and ready.
Before your appointment:
• You’ll get a confirmation text with arrival details.
• Wear whatever you’re comfortable in - come as you are!
• Eat a light meal beforehand (nothing too heavy) and hydrate plenty.
• Arrive about 10-15 minutes early so you’re not rushing with the first time paperwork.
When you get here:
• We’ll do a quick intake - where it hurts, what’s going on, any medical stuff we should know about
• You get to tell us your goals: “I just want to melt,” “my shoulders are bricks,” “I have a specific knot” – all of it is valid.
• We’ll go over pressure preferences, draping/comfort, and anything else
During the session:
• You’ll be professionally draped throughout - you’re never fully exposed.
• “Too much” or “not enough”? Say so! We’d rather you speak up than white-knuckle it – The session is yours.
• Falling asleep is more than allowed, it’s encouraged 😴
After:
• Drink water. A lot of it. Your body will need the hydration.
• We’ll chat about what to do between sessions (stretches, heat, hydration)
• Some soreness for a day or two after is normal - It's the body naturally reacting to the changes we've made.
Nervous? That’s okay! Most first-timers are. It’s just a room, a table, and someone whose job is to make you feel better. Your comfort is our top priority!
Questions? Drop them in the comments or just ask us when you’re in - no question is too small.

What is Sound Therapy? 🎶
Ever notice how a certain song can instantly shift your mood, or how silence after a long day feels like relief? That's not just in your head! Sound - its resonance frequency - has a real, measurable effect on your nervous system & mitochondria.
The technique: Sound therapy uses tools like tuning forks, singing bowls, or chimes, placed on or around the body, to introduce specific vibrations and frequencies. During our services, we use ambient sound for relaxation; For a more direct approach, we can use targeted vibration with tuning forks, which echos through your bones and all of the fluid in the body.
Why it works: Sound and vibration can help shift the body out of "fight or flight" mode and into a more relaxed state - similar to what happens during meditation or deep breathing. Vibration can also help ease muscle tension directly, by targeting the ligament attachment points from the base, where it attaches directly to the bone.
Esoterica: Sound therapy also directly interfaces with the chakra flow in the body. Often, one or more of your seven chakra points can become misaligned - the vibration from properly tuned forks can help realign the vibration of that point, restoring proper energy flow.
Curious? We can incorporate sound elements into your next session, or you can ask us about it next time you're in. We are happy to explain more in person!
Sitting all day tends to tighten up your hips and glutes, which is often where a lot of that lower back tension actually comes from. Here's a simple stretch you can do right at your desk, no equipment, no getting up required.
How to do it:
1. Sit upright in your chair
2. Cross one ankle over the opposite knee (forming a "4" shape)
3. Keeping your back straight, gently lean forward until you feel a stretch through your hip/glute
4. Take a few deep breaths as you hold for 20-30 seconds. Feel the stretch, and allow your body forward.
5. Switch sides, and repeat.
Do this once or twice a day and your hips will thank you. 🙌
Got a stretch you want us to cover next, or a spot that's always tight? Drop it in the comments! We just might feature it ~
