This was such a rewarding transformation for my beautiful mama after a long & stressful journey with her skin! 🫶🏻 Discovering something suspicious on her nose 2 years ago, she went & got it checked out.

It turned out to be skin cancer & had to have very invasive surgeries. This was such a rough time for her, & believe it or not by the looks of it now, the surgeries had her almost unrecognizable. She didn’t want to look in the mirror throughout the whole process & healing of it. I remember being in class & seeing the photos of her about a week post surgery. They were very graphic that I had to sit down & collect myself. It absolutely broke my heart!

This was while I was still in esthetics school. I was all the way across the country & I could not WAIT to be back home to be able to care for her & her skin eventually knowing all I could do to help her, her skin & the healing process. My poor precious, beautiful mama 🥺

She just had her most recent post-op checkup with her dermatologist & was in the clear of anything suspicious on her skin, finally felt comfortable enough & wanted to treat herself & skin after hearing the great news. There’s so many ways & products to work hyaluronic acid into your routine. But you also want to make sure the hyaluronic acid you’re using has the correct molecular weight & size to work properly! (Otherwise it’s just sitting at the surface doing.. nothing.)

My favorite is to kill two birds with one stone (more like a whole flock with one stone) using vitamin c serum–both Circadia and Hale & Hush uses hyaluronic acid in their formulations–While also targeting collagen synthesis, skin elasticity, brightening of present age spots while inhibiting the production of more beneath the surface of the skin, and reducing inflammation.

The Dos & Don’ts of post facial aftercare! 🤍🧖🏻‍♀️🧴

‼️ Do NOT touch your face! You really shouldn’t ever be touching your face, but especially after a facial. I knows it’s tempting to feel how soft, smooth, silky & nice your skin feels, but you don’t want to spread bacteria or anything from your hands to your freshly exfoliated skin!

‼️ Change your pillowcase! You don’t want to go lay your face on the same old material all that old dead skin, bacteria, sweat, skincare products, hair oils/products, etc. we’re laying on the night before 😖

‼️ Avoid wearing makeup! Makeup products can contain comedogenic, irritating, inflammatory ingredients; and if they’re not sanitized you don’t want to spread all that old caked up bacteria back onto your new fresh skin! Be sure to always wash your makeup brushes before your facial, so when you go to use them the day after or whenever you do, they are clean! You can also spray down your makeup palettes with alcohol to help with bacteria 🦠 on those too ✔️

‼️ Wear SPF! ☀️🧴 Not wearing a sunscreen post facial will damage your skin more! Getting professional exfoliation done amplifies skins susceptibility to the sun and the damage it will take. Protect what you just paid for!
