I am not only disabled. I am not only Multiple Sclerosis. Those are not the only things about me. Yes, they are a huge part of my life because they control so much about my life, but they are just things about me. They are not who I am. When people forget that I am an actual person because they can’t see past the wheelchair or scooter or cane, they’re missing out on everything I have to offer. Yes, controls nearly everything in my life and keeps me from doing everything I want, but I am not I am Robin. If you want me to be in your life I am happy to, but I don’t have the abilities that you do. I can’t get in my car and come visit. I can’t walk more than a few steps. I can’t go up or down stairs. I can’t go out to eat. I can’t do as much as you. But I’m still alive and still a person.

I know we’re all facing so much uncertainty right now but there are a few things that I am very certain of...

1. There are people that have been facing this for years before the recent pandemic that would love to hear from you. We have been there before and we have so much wisdom to share about getting through challenges. Empaths like myself tend to want to help but we’re not always able to. We feel most useful when we can be of help to others. It’s a great way to connect or reconnect.

2. You’re not facing it alone.

3. If your gut is talking to you- LISTEN! I know several people looking into a career change and it’s totally ok to think about that.

4. You can reinvent yourself as many times as needed until you are happy.

5. I’m always available to help with any of the above!

I wanted to post about this particular I did a while back because there’s so much misinformation out there when it comes to and I thought I’d share a bit about it for 👏🏻 Unfortunately I was seriously stabbed in the back by the person wearing this color so I won’t be posting any images besides this one 😂

First, I did not use any lightener on her hair! 🙌 She has very fine, fragile hair and I was not going to risk it’s integrity just to get vivid color. Yes, it’s absolutely possible to get bright colors on hair that hasn’t been prelightened if you know what you’re doing! I know of a company or two that claim the hair has to be lightened first to accept semi permanent color so it will last or open the cuticle or blah blah. Not true as you can see! Bleach is not the only way to open the cuticle and semi color can go over any canvas. I’ve actually found that it can last longer on hair that isn’t bleached first because it’s saving the cuticle layers and giving it something to hold onto. You won’t be able to get super pastel colors or make a brighter blue pop, but if your clients want pink, purples, reds, and colors in those families, well, see the unedited image above! Yes, you have to absolutely know your color theory inside and out to know how to make a fuchsia with the canvas you’re starting on, but not every head needs to be bleached to the heavens to get a beautiful vibrant result! I’m sure many will disagree but the proof is in the picture! • 💜💖
